Geofencing is an important feature today because you can block IPs from some countries. You can geofence yourself if there is an incoming attack or a continuous ping from a company outside your country. Majorly, where we have local small companies, we block all the IP addresses outside India. That is one of the very good features Cyberoam has. The zero day attack feature is also very good. The third feature is traffic shaping, where personal Internet that goes to computers from the servers and the data that moves into your branches is shaped, and bandwidth is allocated. These are a few really good features.

The advantages of the product stem from the fact that the product sends you emails stating that there have been some attacks on your systems, like ransomware or malware, and it also asks users to block sites that are not supposed to be open or seen. The product does proper URL filtering. I haven't configured the product for what it is meant to do. The product is also supposed to deal with keystroke logging. It provides a report if you type something that should not be accessed. In general, the product gives you a report before the end of each month.

I like the reliability and the price. But sometimes, my customer asks for cheaper solutions, though I propose we focus on reliability.

Aside from that, the port forwarding is good. Sometimes you hold some servers on-premise, and then you can have someone access another country or anywhere. The VPN is also good.

The dashboard is very good-looking and offers maximum features. If a customer's website has a problem, we can guide them over the phone because they can easily find the specific option on the dashboard. That's why we suggest buying Sophos.

One key feature is the personal security dashboard. Most features are available on the dashboard, making it easy for customers to manage their security. However, it's a complex task, so we can't add too many features currently. So, the dashboard is currently the main focus.

I find Sophos very good. What I like about it is that users can make hotspots in Mac and Windows systems through this solution.

I also like the feature of being able to block off Mac IDs that host users. For example, you have a Mac or Windows laptop and you created a hotspot. Other devices like mobiles and tablets e.g. iPads connected to that hotspot. We can block those devices that are connected to the hotspot we created, only through Sophos.

It's a good feature we didn't find in other UTMs.

For me, the most important thing is content management and, obviously, the firewall because we have some servers.

We have different levels of users. Some users, we are just giving them email access. For some users, working sites only. For some users, we are giving them intermediate access so they can access, on the government side, some knowledge bases. For some users, we are giving full access.

So there are two major features for me. One is content management and the second thing is servers, publishing.

It's quite easy to configure everything, which is a great selling point for us. You can easily adjust the users and load balances, for example. We can make our own rules and input as many as we like. 

The firewall is very good. It provides a nice amount of security.

The solution has good load balancers.

We've found the solution to be very stable.

So far, we've found the scalability to be acceptable.

The best feature is the flexibility the product offers, in terms of remote access. We have bout 35 locations across the kingdom, and connecting those remote locations with the minimal bandwidth was a challenge. A few of my branches are connected via 3G. So that is the most advanced feature I like about Cyberoam, the flexibility the solution offers.

Having a firewall solution with a data quota is very important when the bandwidth is limited, which really distinguishes it from other products. When it comes to small and medium-sized organizations, one of their main concerns is that their data quota is not exceeded. It is quite an advantage for the administrators.

There is training material available on the website for the administrators to learn how to set it up and use it. This is very helpful and can be done easily with a one or two day course.

Most valuable feature I am using I would say is the bandwidth management for users. I have users who misuse the net and I have given them caps so it is properly utilized. Cyberoam is our low-end product that we use for smaller customers or ones where application security is not a priority. Cyberoam has good AD integration for user configuration and web controls which we like a lot and it’s easy to manage and maintain.  We mostly use the virtual models in VMware.

Cyberoam UTM appliances work for small, medium and enterprise networks of your organization. It’s a complete hardware firewall with a bandwidth management utility. The internet web filtering facility is available with a group base and a user base in UTM. You can also monitor user activity over the internet and all URL logging with UTM. You can restrict the user, by prohibiting them from unwanted URL categories like jobs, sports, matrimonial, etc. The bandwidth usage graph can be sorted by user, group, entire organization, daily, weekly, and monthly, allowing you to make decisions about increasing bandwidth for organizations. Fail over facility is also available and therefore if any one ISP is disconnected, it is automatically switched over to an ISP2.
