I do have colleagues and therefore some visibility into CloudFlare, Symantec, and Trend Micro. We likely will go with Microsoft based on cost and the ability to integrate everything together. We have a small tech team, and we are a charity, so we are looking for effective solutions that do not drain our budget.

I have also used Cisco, Palo Alto, and Trend Micro. Intercept X provides prompt service. It has user-friendly dashboards. We are able to meet our client’s expectations well.

There were some technical problems also. But since we are using Intercept X Endpoint cloud-based solution, everything goes smoothly.

Previously we used McAfee for our endpoint protection for our company. It was very problematic, it was using up a lot of resources and delaying the work of users. Users were not able to do multitasking in the system. It is blocking all access to our server at the time of scanning. We decided to move to some other good antivirus. After analyzing the market, we found Sophos. Sophos is best for the standard configuration PC.

Sophos and Fortinet have a firewall solution that can work in small business or home office situations, where you might have only one or two people protected by the techn. Still, yout you can look at it through a single pane of glass and see all of the different work sites you're protecting.
Sophos goes one step further with what it calls its RED product, which basically is a hardware firewall that travels with somebody. Say you have an executive in your company and you want to zero in to protect his or her workstation from infection and have control over it to manage its defenses. RED is a great product to do that. Fortinet and Sophos both have strong management capabilities for remote offices and offer centralized management through a cloud application.

I have used Comodo and it is a good solution. When the agents are installed on the endpoints it provides inventory management. However, in Sophos Intercept X it is possible but you need to export and do it manually. The Comodo solution has better email, asset, and website management capabilities. Overall, Sophos has good security when compared to other solutions.

We also work with Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Check Point solutions. If a client has Check Point, we work with that. Similarly, if a client has Sophos, we work with Sophos. We have knowledge of different end products. As compared to Cisco ASA, Sophos is good. However, Palo Alto and Check Point are better than Sophos.

While I found Symantec easier to implement and manage, it is not a fair comparison to say it is better than Sophos. My experience with Symantec's interface was good, but both products have their strengths.
We migrated from Kaspersky to Sophos Intercept X. While deploying Sophos Intercept X, we found a lot of vulnerability and risky endpoints that Kaspersky didn't cover.

We also have experience with Fortinet. Fortinet has what they call their security fabric, which does about the same thing. Basically you have a number of different products, different solutions, and it's all under a single pane of glass and everything's coordinated so that any member or any component of that fabric or synchronized security is aware, has situational awareness of what other components are experiencing. If there's an attack that breaks out in one place, then there's going to be the opportunity for basically isolating that particular component so that it doesn't allow lateral movement.
I've used other solutions. The reason that I like Sophos is mostly due to the synchronized security and cloud management. Other solutions that I've dealt with have been point solutions. I've needed to figure out how to get that situational awareness between the different points. You have to do that. The name of the game these days is to evade the parameter. I have to not only protect the endpoint as if there was no firewall, but I also have to make sure that I've got as much intelligence going on about the state of my internal network so that everybody knows what's happening next door to them.

I've used Kaspersky but prefer Sophos for its features.
View full review »I've had experience with other antivirus programs such as Trend, Norton, and McAfee, and they just flag it and indicate that you are infected. However, Sophos has always taken care of things. This way, if my users don't know what to do with a popup, at least I know that Sophos will just grab it, quarantine it, and protect the user.
Sophos is easy to install and easy to manage, and I have had no issues with it. I've had better protection and quarantining features with Sophos Intercept X.

McAfee has a component for exploit prevention which works similarly to Intercept X. I've actually seen Intercept X working better than that, especially because in Intercept X you're also leveraging from machine learning.

We previously used Symantec among other products.
Symantec has changed a lot over the last 10 years. They used to be a totally different company. We were not only concerned about the product and the quality of the product and the availability of support and all of these sorts of things at first. However, they were also beginning to fall behind in terms of their technical capabilities on their product, and then we also already had a relationship with Sophos because of the firewalls, so it was a natural transition away from Symantec.
We were deploying the UTMs or what they call the SG line, and they've subsequently come out with the XG line, and if you have their cloud-based management solution, you can manage the XG line of firewalls with Intercept X, and they can look at each other's data and make decisions, AI kinds of decisions, or just scripted decisions, based on what the other is finding. It's much more advanced.

Prior to Sophos, we were using a product by Symantec. The first difference is the deep learning or machine learning aspect. The second is the cloud administration capabilities. They both support cloud but the administration is better in Sophos.

We did use other solutions in the past, including Trend Micro, Symantec, and Kaspersky. The main difference between Sophos Intercept X and the other products is the client reservation feature. I believe that is a standalone point for Sophos as it is the only product that has it. It allows particular hosts to always use the same IP address which is sometimes desirable.
The administration of Trend Micro is one thing which I like about that product. It is very easy to use. I would say that Trend Micro is better than Sophos on that point.
We switched to Sophos because we are selling Sophos firewalls already. The Sophos Intercept X product works better with these firewall solutions than other virus scanning products from different vendors. We decided to keep to the same vendor for a more unified solution.
We started to work with Sophos Endpoint Protection originally and we are on Bonfire XG as well. It is convenient to expand out working with the brand as a partner.

We previously used Symantec.
We switched solutions for a few reasons. The first one is that Symantec was bought by Broadcom and there were some unknowns about what would happen with the product. Support typically gets worse when Broadcom buys a product, and we wanted to step away on the off-chance that could happen in the near future.
We were also looking to consolidate and to find a replacement but to also get something that had spam protection and something that was easily obtainable for a small business. Sophos ultimately could hit all those checkmarks.

Prior to Intercept X, we were using the signature-based endpoint protection by Sophos. Our license was just recently up for renewal and we are in the process of upgrading to Intercept X.
In my previous company, we were using Cisco AMP. The beauty of Sophos Intercept X is that it does both signature-based on behavioral threat protection in one agent. With some other solutions, you have to install a different product for each approach.
