What is most valuable?

The filtering was very good.

What needs improvement?

The licensing could be improved. It restricted us to maybe 55 connections per license, so anything less than 55 VPN connections. But when you grow and have 100 clients coming in, you have to upgrade. I'd prefer to get something which is a… more»

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

We were using Cyberoam, and then we changed to Sophos. We had an appliance for Sophos, and then because we were moving to a bigger setup, we moved to Check Point. We've since moved to FortiGate. That's the solution we have now.

What other advice do I have?

We've actually stopped using it. We switched to FortiGate because we had side to side VPNs that were are actually bringing issues with the UTM itself, so we had to swap it over. I would rate the overall solution a six out of 10. There's… more»

What is most valuable?

You can apply patterns to look for. That can be done for applications also. You can ask for a specific feature to become a pattern. The solution is good, but they have poor marketing in Nigeria. They need to market their product better. They need to work on their support. Cisco has the best technical support. We are using the on-premises deployment model. We are an integrator, so we do integrations using Fortinet, Cisco, Sophos, and Palo Alto. We integrate solutions on the client's request. Most times I push on Fortinet, as it's a robust system. You can integrate your endpoint with Fortinet. You can integrate the cloud on-premises. What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of this solution is the Stormshield Analyzer, which allows us to collect and analyze data, then generate reports.

How has it helped my organization?

Our organization's main concern is stability, and this is a stable solution. It's more stable than the other firewall that was deployed.

What is most valuable?

The setup, the configuration, and the security are the most valuable features. This solution is user-friendly.

How has it helped my organization?

This solution has given me more security, I have more control over my VoIP solution, and I can pick up separate VNs.

What needs improvement?

It's a free solution, with payable add on features.

Previously we used Untangle and SonicWall. SonicWall is a paid solution and Untangle is a free solution with extra payable features, the same as Comodo Dome.

What is most valuable?

The interface is very good. We use the web sensor, the virus blocker, the spam blocker, bandwidth control, application control, and firewall options. We're quite happy with all of it.

What needs improvement?

The pricing is not as good as it was some time ago. They've since skipped offering a lot of individual features. In the future, Untangle should offer a web server feature. That's the only application… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We pay $350 USD per year for the solution. There are no additional costs. As long as you're not using a physical appliance, that's all you need.

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

We've used multiple solutions. We were previously using Sophos, but we switched because of its high price tag.

What other advice do I have?

It's very easy to use the product. In comparison, Sophos has a bigger learning curve. I would rate the solution ten out of ten.

Before choosing this solution we tried both Sophos and WatchGuard.
