It is scalable. We had more than 2,000 users in our organization. It was being used by more than 150 departments.
Onboarding end-users was easy. I was a Splunk admin, and I was also an end-user. I could provide access to other end-users directly.

In typical cloud infrastructure, you can add your EC2 on demand based on the load of your customers, but with the Splunk Cloud, that is not the case. They assign a fixed number of searches and indexes. They have named it as a cloud, but it is still an on-prem instance sitting in their cloud, so in terms of scalability, I do not see much advantage with Splunk Cloud because, at the end of the day, you get approval from your Splunk account team or a management team to add a new instance into your cluster.

The scalability is very good. It's extendible.

I haven't experienced the extensibility, or the ability to extend the system, however, my understanding is that it is very good. We have yet to upgrade it.
View full review »Splunk Cloud is scalable. If we want to expand we only need to add new hardware. it is much easier having the solution be cloud.
We use the solution every day. All the production support analysts are using the solution. There are approximately 50 people using it in my area.

Scalability does not apply to our environment. Because it is a cloud, scalability is relative to how much you can afford. It scales itself if your data increases because it is a cloud environment.

Scalability depends on what kind of license you have. If you have ingest-based licenses and you hit your cap, I think they still let you ingest more, but then you have to work with your account team and buy more licenses so you don't lose data. It's scalable, but not automated because it has its own license limitations.

I quite enjoy the fact that if we need more indexes or search heads, it is very easy to plug and play with Splunk Cloud. With the infrastructure model that we had before, we would have to go in, set up a new search head out to the cluster, and add a new indexer to the cluster if we needed it. It will have more benefits going forward as we move more and more into the cloud.

Its scalability seems okay. Most of our issues come with our data storage. We are storing mass amounts of data, and it seems to handle that right now.
View full review »We had challenges with the sizing of the cloud tenant that we purchased, but that was based on past decisions, so we are stuck with that until our next move. That should come in the next year. At that time, we will resize the tenant in a more efficient way, so scalability does not apply because the tenant we bought is a closed one. There is no scalability on either side. I learned that after the fact, so I am not impressed because we did not buy it. I guess people who buy that type can have good feedback on scalability.

We are a very small shop. We only have 150 gigs a day, and we are not anywhere near that 150. However, from what I see, if there is an easy transition from 150 gigs to 300 terabytes, that is easy scalability.

This system is very scalable. That means it can be easily adapted to accommodate our needs. We can increase the number of licenses we use, or add more resources like CPU and memory. We can also request additional components, such as adding more user accounts if our team grows from four to eight members. Overall, the scalability of this system is a major advantage.
I would rate the scalability of Splunk Cloud Platform nine out of ten.

Scalability is good, but the cost factor in scaling is really high. That is the reason why we are interested in working with products and solutions that will help us optimize our costs and may be looking into other solutions.
We probably have something around a hundred users who work with Splunk. Mainly they are architects, enterprise architects, and data-link architects. We also have business analyst systems. We have not had a problem in changing or growing these roles.
