Compared to competitors, it gives added value, but not every product gives you everything. Compared to other solutions, Symantec DLP is very good when it comes to the quality of detection.

I have worked with different customers, and we have evaluated different DLP solutions for our customers. However, all of my experience is a limited experience. I have one year of experience with ForcePoint and McAfee DLP.

Customers or enterprises looking for the best detection options would need to look at Symantec Data Loss Prevention as it has the best detection options.

The other solutions just follow basic keyword detection. A complete DLP solution should monitor all of the other aspects. Symantec has powerful monitoring features and options that can provide us with much more than just basic options.

Trend Micro has a complete suite just like Symantec DLP. Both are good products and nearly equal to each other.

I didn't evaluate other solutions before choosing Symantec DLP this time, but I evaluated other DLPs for different projects. However, those were cloud-based DLPs, so it's not an apples-to-apples comparison.

The DLP category is very competitive and we implement tools based on our client's needs such as the solution, Forcepoint, and Microsoft.

Initially, when checked out quite a few products, like Trend Micro, we found this product to be the most user-friendly.

Right now, their roadmap is not very visible, so we are trying out McAfee. Currently, we are simultaneously running both McAfee and Symantec.

I've looked into Forcepoint and it seems to be much better as it's user-friendly and there are some other features that I like. I've just looked into it for comparison purposes. I've never actually used it.

We had a partnership with Symantec so we didn't use any other solution because we signed an agreement with them and we started deployment with the customer. We evaluated the system with the customer and once the customer confirmed that we should secure Symantec DLP we deployed the solution.

We evaluated alternative solutions, but I can't recall which ones. We had an enterprise license and the product integrated with the SIEM well. There was little reason to go outside of the existing contracts.

I compared this solution with Cisco Stealthwatch. And I work on solutions like Forcepoint DP too. But I prefer Symantec DLP and I usually recommend this solution first when a client asks about the different options. It is, however, the more expensive option. So if the client's budget doesn't allow it, I recommend Forcepoint.
