Tenable Security Center Pricing
The price of Tenable SC is expensive, we pay approximately €70,000 for the license annually. We have to pay for each IP test. The cost of other solutions is far less, such as Nessus Professional, which is €3,000 annually.
View full review »The solution’s pricing is reasonable but depends on the country's foreign reserves. You have to buy it at the price of USD. Hence, it depends on your country's currency rate.
View full review »The licensing fees are based on the number of assets. The price can start at €10,000 ($13,000 USD) for between 500 and 1,000 assets, and the price can climb into the millions as more assets are added.
There are two types of licenses available, which are the subscription, and the perpetual with maintenance. The subscription is the same price every year, with very small variations over the years. In the case of a perpetual license, there is a high initial cost compared to the subscription, but the maintenance is much lower.

Compared to other companies or other products it could maybe be a little bit less, but the price is okay. I would say it's not very expensive.

We purchase the solution through a local distributor, but we also directly communicate with representatives at Tenable. So, we acquire the license from their distributor, but we are direct users as well.
I would rate the pricing a nine out of ten, where ten is expensive.
The pricing might deter some companies from adopting this solution, especially in our region, which includes countries like Estonia and neighboring Eastern European nations. For us, the cost is a significant consideration, and we often face challenges when budgeting for it each year.
There's on-premise hosting, which incurs some costs, but it's not a major factor. Additionally, we have an engineer providing support, but that's a shared responsibility across multiple tasks. So, licensing is the primary cost driver, and there aren't any other major expenses.
My company needs to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs. The pricing of the solution falls in the mid-range level, so it is not too expensive.
We're happy with the licensing cost and find it affordable.
We paid for three years, mostly for the finances and sourcing, but all features are inclusive.
I would rate our licensing cost as eight on a scale of one to ten.

The pricing is more than Rapid7 Nexpose. PVS and the agents, etc., are all part of that agreement. So it's pretty comprehensive, but I don't know how much it is.

I don't know our licensing costs but they're in the seven figures. We have an enterprise license, so I believe everything is tied up in that. We do not have any additional cost other than our large enterprise license.
The licensing is a little involved from both sides. That may be due to our specific implementation of it because we are a defense contractor. I feel we rely a lot on their customer service and they rely on us to do a lot of manual labor to get licensing installed or to get licensing. If there were some type of smoother transaction, that would be great.
I would like more self-service in the granting and rescinding of SC licenses, and that way we wouldn't have to be involved with customer service as much or with our account executive.
