Teradata IntelliFlex Initial Setup

The initial setup was straightforward. Before IntelliFlex, we were using Teradata's 2700 and 2800 appliances. We were moving from a Teradata appliance to a new Teradata appliance, and during that process, we were able to move all the data in between three to six months without a problem, keeping both platforms working until we moved into IntelliFlex. The setup phase was a good process.

The solution is deployed on-premises. We are planning to move to the cloud in the future.

The initial setup is complex because there are a lot of factors that come into play, including the amount of software and applications that require access. Deployment takes around two to four months, assuming that all the company's applications are compatible with the system - if not, it may take longer.

Teradata is very professional when it comes to the way they handle installations. They work according to a trans-control process, so every installation that has been done or installed by Teradata is pre-approved by technical experts.

Once the product is pre-approved, we will install it according to a trans-control process, and anything that we do regardless of the system is being recorded by the lease management. Going forward, everybody knows what exactly is happening on the system, including what the latest releases of any firmware on the system are. It's a controlled environment.
