We previously used Centrify, which is now part of Delinea. We conducted technology assessments and spoke with various vendors like CyberArk, BeyondTrust, and One Identity. Ultimately, our management decided to go with Delinea for two main reasons.

Firstly, budget played a significant role. Secondly, from a technical standpoint, since we were already using Centrify, Delinea offered a clear and step-by-step migration process with ongoing support. This impressed our leadership team.

Security Operations at a tech company with 5,001-10,000 employees

Before choosing, we looked at other vendors such as LastPass, 1Password, CyberArk, PasswordManager, PasswordState, BeyondTrust, Quest, CA, etc. In the end, the cost, features, and ease of deployment simply beat the competition.

An enterprise-class PAM system will always have complexities to deal with. However, some competitive products literally require a professional services engineer to come onsite if you want it done properly. Secret Server was comparatively easy to setup and get running on our own.

When making a decision about which solution to purchase, it often comes down to a choice between Thycotic and CyberArk. The cost and features one gets with the latter provides a little more value and saves money in the process, although the former is somewhat easier to deploy and to get up and running.
