TIBCO Jaspersoft Pricing

SB
Sr Technical Analyst at Sumtotal

It's a yearly subscription, but it depends on the license. If there is a lower number of licenses, it may cost more, and if there's a higher number of licenses, it might cost less based on the versions being used.

If it's deployed on an enterprise level, everything will be hosted on the cloud, which would be cheaper.

I would rate the pricing as four out of five because it's expensive.

We don't pay for any additional features. To get more features, we have to upgrade our license. They might provide a 30-day trial for the Jaspersoft Pro version and for the IO reports.

I'd rate the pricing around six or seven out of ten. The price is a bit expensive, yet it's still acceptable. When they launched the business, they wanted the business to support engineers to develop and improve on the product. There are costs involved in that. Developers often are expensive, and companies need to pay them a high salary. That's likely why it costs so much. Still, the price, for me, is a bit expensive compared to the market.

Since I checked last time, only one annual license costs about $25,000. If we increase the number of licenses, the bill per month will be very high.

The JasperReport Library is free for basic reporting such as bank statements that do not require graphical representations. Many customers prefer to stick with the free version.

The JasperReport Server is a flexible, paid version that includes HTML5 charts, the ability to design the dashboard, and the option to create canned, online, or ad hoc reports.

Pricing used to be quite cheap with a restriction similar to 100 customers per server. Over time, pricing increased a bit because features were added such as Dashboard Designer and the Ad Hoc Report Writer that competes with Power BI and Tableau.

The pricing is still cost effective because it is based on servers rather than users.

The solution is linked to IT, it is an add-on. The address is quite expensive. Regarding affordability, I give it a four out of ten.

The cost depends on the market and the type of license we are using. The cost is on the higher end.

Although starting is easy, when you go for production sizing, you have to be prepared to pay quite a bit. You can lower it by preparing your datastore/database in a good way.

First use the community edition to see if the basic reporting features are adequate for your organization.

If you need to trial run the ad hoc functionality, then ask for a trial license. Have a plan to use those few days optimally. Afterwards, decide on what license will suit you best.

Alternately, you could contact my organization for assistance in this regard: www.silvafox.co.za (LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/roger-baatjes-4496b615).

It's open source which means that small to mid-sized businesses can use the community version of Jaspersoft and save lot of money. For Enterprise level companies, it has rich enterprise features such as ad-hoc reporting on self service BI, rich dashboards, rich embedded BI solutions, mobile BI solutions, multi-tenant features, and rich HTML-5 visualizations. These help a client take better and more elegant decisions for a lower cost per candidate per year. Also, you can rent the server for quick solutions in the cloud at a rate of $1 per hour.

The price is neutral because the cost is justified with the level of reporting required. I rate the pricing a five out of ten, with ten being expensive and one being cheap.
