What is Tools4ever HelloID?

HelloID makes accessing applications easy by seamlessly integrating into an organization's portal where users already go for other information. It can also be offered through a familiar URL if a portal interface is not desired. By integrating HelloID into an existing portal, organizations make it simple for users to quickly find and access all the applications they need from a single dashboard. Once logged into the portal, the user sees an overview of the available cloud applications (e.g. Google Apps, Salesforce, Office 365, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) and simply clicks on that application's icon.

Tools4ever HelloID is also known as HelloID.

Reduces complexity with single sign-on and provides valuable application-usage related metrics

What is our primary use case?

We provide virtual workspaces for small to medium-sized organizations. Because we don't have many service desk employees (and we don't like to do support ;) ), we use HelloID to automate every repetitive task we can imagine. Also, we use HelloID as our SSO solution.

Pros and Cons

  • "The Single Sign-On capabilities are endless and we haven't found a single app so far that couldn't be set up for SSO."
  • "I would like to have the built-in provisioning module improved."

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend following them for the demos and webinars. There is a lot of cool stuff and features which you might not have known about. At this moment, we do not have any wishes. We have submitted a lot of feature requests in the past, but since there is a release every month, all our FRs and nice-to-haves have been implemented. My advice would be to at least use this solution for service automation and access management because that's something you won't regret. Overall, I would recommend HelloID for its ease of use and fair pricing.

A flexible solution for application management, and facilitated centralization of our IAM

What is our primary use case?

We use HelloID for ourselves and our customers. It helps us manage all access to our applications. In our situation, we have a HelloID portal and our clients also have a HelloID portal. When our clients need support, our employees are able to access the client portal without the need to log in. This is very useful.

Pros and Cons

  • "Now we can easily control who has access to which client or client application."
  • "When something needs to be changed with the sign-on policies, we have to apply this manually to every client environment that we have."

What other advice do I have?

The solution is flexible and has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, a lot of things can be configurated exactly as you want it, but on the other hand, this makes it hard to automate and reuse it in other environments.

Improves efficiency and reduces costs through better helpdesk automation

What is our primary use case?

We use this software primarily for Single/Seamless Sign-On, Access Management, Service Automation, and User Provisioning to multiple systems. Users can request services and applications via this portal. Another feature we use is Multi-factor authentication with the authenticator apps.

Pros and Cons

  • "You don't need to be a specialist in Identity and Access Management solutions to understand the software and configure it."
  • "Sometimes it generates a username that is not unique, but at the time of this writing, it is not possible to generate a new one that is unique."

A user-friendly interface that saves our users time

What is our primary use case?

We are a healthcare organization (five thousand users) with a variety of web-based applications. HelloID helps us with SSO to all these applications. Users can log in with their AD account and an MFA to all of the different applications, regardless of SAML, ADFS, etc.

Pros and Cons

  • "The most valuable feature is the option to use SSO from different sources such as Microsoft AD, ADFS, Azure AD, SAML, form-based, etc."
  • "Integration with other Tools4ever applications such as SSRPM and IAM would be nice."

What other advice do I have?

My advice for anybody implementing this solution is to make use of a proof of concept.
