Trello Room for Improvement

Being able to export reports from Trello, general reports, or board reports, would improve the solution for me as a manager. This would help me monitor my team or my tasks more effectively. I would also like the ability to export raw data about my tasks.

We haven't had any issues with Trello.

I'd like to see features that could help us generate reports or automatically send things to emails. We don't really have any automated features. If they had more automated options, that would be helpful.

The product does not allow the linking of tasks. We cannot link tasks that are dependent on each other. There is no field to indicate the budget allocated and consumed for a particular task. The meeting should have recording facilities.

In terms of improvements, adding more artificial intelligence and making it more user-friendly in terms of design could be beneficial. However, given its user-friendly nature, there's not much to criticize.

There's an acquisition unfolding with Broadcom and VMware. We're waiting to hear what this will mean for VxRail. Until that happens, it's hard to say what the roadmap will look like. There are a lot of changes happening due to the acquisition, even from a licensing perspective, and we're waiting to see. Therefore, it's tricky to evaluate anything.

The Dell PowerEdge Servers are very good servers. VMware is also a very good product. However, we don't get a full picture of VMware cloud formation as an orchestrated data center. Maybe, Broadcom and VMware could bundle their products together. It's possible they could offer the same experience as a public cloud over the data center. VxEail should offer its own cloud platform.

There can be a lack of functionality. There are limitations and restrictions of choice. There are only three modes of architecture. The hardware configuration is limited. Other vendors are more flexible.

n Trello, there's one aspect that could be enhanced. Sometimes, I find it challenging to manage the checklists. Specifically, I'd like to have the ability to track the checklist as a separate entity. Let me explain. When I have a detailed checklist for a task, like organizing an event with items such as "Talk to the hotel" and "Get details," it would be helpful if I could convert this checklist into a new card while retaining all the same content, labels, and other details. Currently, if I convert it into a new card, I have to manually update everything, which can be time-consuming. Improving this aspect of the checklist feature would be beneficial.

There's another thing that comes to mind. Sometimes, I use PowerApp to supplement Trello because I find that some of the basic features in Trello might not fully meet my needs. PowerApp helps me accomplish specific tasks and allows me to do things in a way that I couldn't solely achieve using Trello.

Although it has many useful features, the one thing I don't like about Trello is that it constantly sends out unimportant notifications. For example, I get an email notification from every card I comment on, which can be tedious at times. They should prioritize sending out only important notifications that are significant to me. I would like to only receive important emails to avoid spending time on irrelevant things.

I can’t think of anything now but there is room for improvement. There’s definitely room for added features.

In terms of improvement, the mobile app could be better. When I last used Trello, the mobile app is an HTML5 version. It's not really native to mobile apps, so this feature isn't really integrated as much as it is when we use it on the web.

Another way Trello could be improved would be with better integrations with other tools like Teams and different calendars. I don't know if they charge extra for a calendar feature but it should be included.

We would need to use a separate calendar to set reminders for the week. Ultimately, we don't always track our activities through Trello. We use other resources like our email. It is important for there to be better integration between Trello, email and our calendar.

Trello is already a very rich tool with Analytics and automation capabilities and ability to integrate with multiple storage formats

One can also customise their categories according to one’s needs and add validation rules to that.

What I have especially found useful are the analytic capability with the ability to create ready to consume charts etc and give various slices and dices of it.

I think the only additions I can think of are possibly enabling Many more categories such as whether it is a risk or defect or issue

And, possibly RAG status can also be enabled at a checklist level

We are exploring the  Gantt chart capabilities of the solution and would like to see a strong Gantt chart capability to give us a one shot linear view of the project

Its hard to say what could be improved in Trello, because it does what it was designed to do, and it's simple, so it's really hard to come up with any flaws.

If I were to name one, it will be for the solution to have more integrations, e.g. they already have quite a few, but we're heavy users of a CRM called Creational, and there's no direct integration with that particular CRM system, but that CRM system is one of the top five CRMs out there. I found it quite odd and strange that integration between Trello and Creational isn't available, while for Salesforce, it's there. Having more integration with third party tools is an area for improvement for Trello.

I also haven't actually looked too much into it, and I'm not sure if this is currently available in Trello: having something along the lines of WhatsApp, where you're able to hold down a button and leave a voice message for your colleagues. It's an additional feature I'd love to see in the next release of Trello, because I think that's also a very quick and great way to be able to communicate with your colleagues. It'll be so much quicker than having to type long sentences or paragraphs to explain. Having voice messaging as an additional functionality in Trello would be great.

We encountered difficulties establishing a stable connection between Nasuni and our network. Additionally, we experienced a lack of adequate communication and support from the Nasuni storage team.

The documentation is not readily accessible.

It is difficult to connect with technical support. Additionally, their knowledge base seems limited.

Managing Nasuni can be challenging due to the lack of comprehensive training and support compared to other solutions available.

The implementation of Nasuni increased our workload, as we assumed responsibility for its administration and maintenance.

My experience with the cloud migration was positive. It helped to improve my work by making it more efficient and accessible, which has increased its usefulness for me.

I would like to integrate directly with AWS, eliminating the need for multiple Nasuni boxes.

There are mobile apps for the solution. Sometimes the notifications are not updated on iOS. If we have one notification, the iOS app shows seven. It indicates that the notifications are still unread. The notifications on mobile apps must be improved.

Unstructured data cannot be directly used; it needs to be structured first.

The recording session works well, but introducing dynamic control can cause glitches and loss of control. To address this, we need to manually extract elements from all test boxes and ensure the dynamic code is executed within them for proper functionality.

Trello does not provide you with as many functionalities as Jira and various third-party integrations provided by these different platforms.

Moreover, assigning things to people is a little difficult, it doesn't make sense. It would be better if it were easier to assign within a team and if they get notifications immediately via an app such as Slack, for example, if Trello could be integrated. However, there may be integrations available that we did not explore. When we used the solution, it was difficult for us to manage through emails, and most tasks were missed out on because they were not getting tracked properly or people were not getting notified.

The solution also gets a little complex with the way assignments and the tagging of certain tasks could be.

Pricing can be improved. Maybe it would be better if they offered some extra tiers, so you don't have to go all the way up to the pro level. We're using the integrations on the other side, and I think you only get some of the things if you're not subscribed at a higher level. You only get a certain amount of features. For example, they have this thing called the Butler, and unless you're at a pro-level, you can only use one Butler feature. You have to pay more to unlock certain features.

I am sure that my company's use cases related to Trello were taxing for the system, so it got rather slow in some areas. With too much information on a Trello board, it got very sluggish. I am sure that Trello board got sluggish mostly due to our company's use case and other bad practices. Trello wasn't a tool that offered lightning-fast speed like users wanted it to be for them.

  1. Video call and messaging for the online conference: 2020 was the time for remote working and online conferencing while social distancing deterred people from going out. I think, as an online collaboration tool, Trello should include an online meeting feature as it would allow members to meet, discuss, and share ideas.
  2. Analytics: Trello could add an analytic tool that allows me to see the performance of each team member, answering questions like whether they meet the deadline or miss the deadline. Besides, I want to know the time spent on each project and the potential issues that occurred.

Having different actions and maybe multiple pages would be helpful, but I don't know if those already exist because I'm only doing one thing on Trello and I've never really gone deep into it. As a team board it did not work well for us. It allows non-permanent members of the company or team to manage or delete posted tasks and notifications. It was a big problem for us that every member was able to delete or edit something posted by another and we felt the need to remedy this. We encountered a situation in which a member of the board deleted every task which he was assigned, which was a lot. We found ourselves trying to refill all the boards so that our stakeholders could have complete visibility of our tasks, a matter which concerned our finances and overall schedule.

For this reason we made use in the bank of Microsoft Planner, which we already had in place. It has a feature that prevents others from deleting or editing notifications posted by another. This is nice to have when one must deal with six picky stakeholders.

As for the user interface, I am glad that Trello does not make alterations to this. I like that the buttons and colors which appear in a consistent manner and this is one of the reasons that I remain with Trello.

There aren't as many tracking tools.

If you use Agile as a methodology, Trello doesn't really fit very well. It cannot run at the speed of the team or show pending tasks and backlogs as well. Those types of features aren't really on Trello. Something such as Jira is much more adept at Agile.

The product doesn't handle heavy loads very well. The information does not load quickly once there's a lot of information in the system. IT needs some sort of load balancer to allow it to take on more information and load more quickly.
