Veeam Backup & Replication Pricing and License Cost

Sanjeev Roy
Project Manager at renaissance group
Actually, the most important criteria for us when considering a solution is service. When we are taking a decision regarding the hardware or software or any applications, then first we need to tell where and what the services they are giving us. Then we evaluate the service level element. The main important criteria when selecting a vendor are then what are the features and services available in the devices or applications. This should be our main selection path to select any hardware devices or applications. Because of our world, in the market, we can get low prices on devices or we could then see what is available. What I actually need is what I need to deploy, the features I need to be deploying in my architecture. That needs to be considered first in systems administration because the price can vary. In my personal experience, these values and features should be the first standard for selecting a device or application. View full review »

My understanding is that it is a fairly small price point. They have two different models, where one is based on the sockets that you're protecting, and the other is based on instances, or servers. You can choose whichever model works best for you. View full review »

The price is reasonable compared to NetBackup, Backup Exec, Dell, Micro Focus, or Acronis, then Veeam is lower in price. Micro Focus's pricing is not too bad either because they changed the licensing model. View full review »

Plan your long-term backup strategy for growth and size the solution appropriately. Veeam has a number of setup options to choose from so make sure you understand them to make the right decision. I would always suggest a multi-year agreement as this will allow for the best possible ROI of licensing. View full review »

I don't know what the costs are for sure, but I think that it's on a yearly basis. I don't think there are any costs in addition to the standard licensing fee. View full review »

While we work with the standard version of the solution, if you want to upgrade, the pricing is too high. They could work to make it more affordable for the Polish market. It's too high for most companies to afford. If it was more affordable, it could be more accessible. View full review »

I'm told that Veeam Backup and Replication is a cost-effective solution, and it's very competitive in terms of pricing. It's cheaper, and it's going to be up ahead of the competitors in terms of pricing by sockets. Compared to other vendors, they're much cheaper, and Veeam is almost everywhere now. View full review »

If you tell Veeam that you're competing with, for example, NetBackup or Backup Exec, or Dell or Micro Focus then they may lower the price. They are very competitive. The price of Micro Focus will beat Veeam, but then you're missing one or two functionalities which is good to have for disaster recovery. View full review »
