Its ease of use is the most valuable feature. It has a very simple UI.

Veeam is a very stable product. The ease of use and UI are some of its highlights. Learning this tool is very easy and you do not need any training classes.

Right now, replication it does in every 15 minutes. However, if it could do continuous replication or even bring it down to 5 minutes, then it would be great.

I have used the first version and stopped using it for a while, due to many physical servers in our environment. I have been using the new version for almost a year.

There were no stability issues that could not be resolved.

There were no scalability issues.

The technical support is excellent; they are very prompt and knowledgeable.

We were using another solution before this one. The reason we moved over to this solution was that we were only 30% virtualized, so we had to use a product that had backup physical servers.

The setup was very straightforward and any technical person can do the initial setup.

Licensing is per CPU, so it depends on the number of physical CPUs.

Based on my previous experience with Veeam, I didn’t evaluate anything else.

It is a very solid product with an easy UI. If you are 90% virtualized, then it is a great product.

We use Veeam Backup & Replication to back up our virtual machines in the VMware environment.

The most valuable feature of Veeam Backup & Replication is that we can back up in-house and multiple cloud providers' storage.

I have been using Veeam Backup & Replication for approximately five years.

Veeam Backup & Replication is a stable solution.

We are a small department in the company and the scalability has been fine for our needs. In my team, we have approximately 80 people. Our whole organization has approximately 5,000 employees.

We have not contacted the support often, the solution has been operating well.

The more features the solution has the more complex it can be to set up. Veeam Backup & Replication can be complex. 

The price of Veeam Backup & Replication is high and that is why I am choosing an alternative.

Veeam Backup & Replication is the market leader in storage backups.

My advice to others is if you are not going to use all the features of Veeam Backup & Replication then use a less expensive solution that can fit the use case.

I rate Veeam Backup & Replication an eight out of ten.

My company is an end user customer of Veeam Backup and Replication and we use it for storing and protecting our server backups.

The advantage of Veeam Backup and Replication is that it is very economical. The price is affordable and the cost benefit is good.

My main concern about Veeam is that I hope our backups will still be secure in the event of a security incident such as a ransomware attack. In Veeam version 11 they do state that there is ransomware protection, but until it has been proven to be effective, I don't have any assurance that it will prevent data loss.

Beyond improving on the security measures, I don't have further expectations for Veeam Backup and Replication.

I have been using Veeam Backup and Replication for two years. 

I have no doubts about the stability of Veeam. 

At the moment it is not necessary for us to scale up our usage of Veeam but I can say that I believe it is very capable of being scaled, should the need arise.

The support we get is very helpful, but it is not through Veeam directly. We use a Veeam partner called Netgroup Solutions to help us and they have been good.

The installation of Veeam Backup and Replication was very easy. 

A nice aspect of Veeam's pricing is that the cost benefit is good. It's very economical.

Veeam Backup and Replication is a good product and I would rate it a ten out of ten.

We have, I'd say, about 20 different customers running Veeam and sending backups to our hosting center. We also have our own hosting environment with about 200 servers, which we are backing up with Veeam Backup and Replication.

The solution is stable and absolutely reliable. 

It's the most easy-to-use backup replication that I have used so far.

I've found that the scalability is fine.

The initial setup is pretty simple. 

We're using both Backup and Replication, Veeam Cloud Connect, and Veeam Office 365. What I am missing is a good graphical user interface between these three products. It's something that they need to figure out. I'd like the three versions streamlined so they fit together better, as, right now, they are very different.

We've been selling the solution for three or four years or something like that.

The solution is reliable and the performance is good. We find it to be stable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze.

Scalability is possible with this solution. If a company needs to expand it, it can do so.

We have 50 customers that pay for this solution right now.

Technical support is helpful and responsive. they are very knowledgeable and friendly. We are very satisfied with the level of support on offer. They really try their best to resolve issues.

The solution is simple and straightforward. 

I cannot recall how long it took to actually deploy the product.

We have three managers that can handle the deployment and maintenance aspects of the product.

We pay for licensing and have a monthly subscription.

We are a reseller.

I would rate the solution at an eight out of ten.

We are using the latest update at the moment. 

We use the solution to do backups and replication between sites, in addition to restores. We employ it solely for its basic functions.

The restore capabilities are the most valuable features.

Veeam Backup & Replication should include a cloud solution. 

The cost should also be adressed. This would bring up my rating from a seven to a ten out of ten. 

We have been using Veeam Backup & Replication for eight to 10 years.

The solution is stable and reliable.

The solution is easy to scale. 

We have yet to make need of technical support, although I feel it to be good. 

I believe the initial setup to have been straightforward, although I cannot say this with certainty, as I was not involved in it. 

While I don't know the exact parameters of the maintenance, I do know that all of our support needs in this respect are covered. 

Maintenance is handled by a third party. We do not have a separate team for handling this. 

While I do not know how much the product cost, as I was not involved in this sphere, I do know that this could be better. 

There are probably just three to five of us using the solution, solely in the IT department. 

I would recommend the solution to others for its ease-of-use. 

I rate Veeam Backup & Replication as a seven out of ten. 

I like how Veeam intuitively integrates with Zerto. They started on their cloud journey a lot sooner than other backup software, and Veeam has a lower footprint on your Commvault.

Restoration takes about two to four hours with Veeam. Zerto can restore in about 10 seconds. That's the restoration speed I'm looking for now that we're dealing with ransomware. This is one area where Zerto has an edge on Veeam.  However, both are easy to use. 

The only thing I would like to see from Veeam is a calculator for estimating the costs on all the different cloud providers. I don't think any product has this. So if I go into Azure versus AWS, it would be nice to have some way to calculate what I will end up paying. 

One thing I've noticed is that both cloud providers will say it's going to cost you X amount to do a backup, and it's simple to compare costs between them. But if you want to do a site recovery, it will cost more to start up all the servers you were backing up in that cloud. Even though one cloud provider might save you money on backup, your total costs will be higher when you factor in restoration. I want the transparency to say Azure is more cost-effective than AWS for backup, but Azure will cost you 2 percent more than the other one to provide that visibility to my client.

I've been using Veeam Backup for about 10 years.

For traditional environments with physical servers, Veeam isn't as great as combos or traditional backup systems like TSM. However, if you are looking at virtualization or shifting to the cloud, Veeam is stable and quite progressive in those spaces.

Veeam's support is international and quite responsive.

I give Veeam Backup Replication eight out of 10.

We use it internally for our own systems, and we have slightly less need on our clients' side, just because they rarely need that kind of system. We can achieve it with other tools.

Its simplicity and the fact that it just works are most valuable. We kind of set it up and generally forget about it. It does what we need it to do in the background, and it doesn't involve a lot of management.

In terms of functionality, it's pretty good, There is a lot of variety in what it can do and how it can back up. We probably use only 10% of what it is kind of capable of, so we're not really pushing the boundaries of it and having any problem.

It is always nice to get products cheaper.

We have been dealing with this solution for maybe five years.

It is absolutely stable. We tend to set it and forget it. It has been a very reliable solution.

We don't really have much experience with their support. Over the five years, we've maybe put in one or two tickets, and that's about it.

It is very simple. It is pretty self-explanatory as long as you understand the virtual environments that you're working with. Veeam itself is pretty easy.

It is always nice to get products cheaper. 

Technically, it saves you a lot of money. If you wanted to buy the same functionality out of vSphere, you would spend thousands to essentially get the same functionality.

I would highly recommend it, but it also depends on whether or not it all fits in with the clients and the pricing model. It is like any backup solution. You have to consider what you're trying to get out of it before you go ahead and configure it, but for backup and replication across hosts, it works really well.

I would rate it a nine out of 10 for what it does. I don't know anything that does it as well.

I'm actually a consultant, so I deploy it for my customers — quite a few of them.

Our clients are partly interested in backing up their application servers and their environment — that's the first priority. Some of our clients have gone a bit further into remote disaster recovery, off-site disaster recovery. They replicate to another location for those purposes.

Our clients are small to medium-sized companies.

There are a few of them. It's relatively easy to use and the ability to recover in a short period of time has been great — I think that works quite well. I've compared Veeam with other products and to me, it works the best of the lot.

Even though the speed has improved over the years, I think that there are some instances where it still takes a while. In some cases, we have experienced fluctuations in performance. For example, yesterday we performed a synthetic full backup. Normally, this takes less than 90 minutes, but other times, it takes well more than six hours to get 40% of the way.

Other than that, I find that it does what is expected and maybe a bit more. I also don't think that I've really tapped into all of the features of it as yet.

Veeam Backup & Replication is very stable.

As I mentioned earlier, I have not really investigated all of the features, and one of them is potentially more scalability than anything else. Regarding what little I have done so far, it seems to be pretty scalable. I do have a couple of projects in the works that I'm going to push out a bit more, so I won't be able to give a fair assessment until I have gone through those projects.

I would say it is good. I'm trying to remember when the last time was that I had to call technical support. I think they're very satisfactory overall.

I think that the support resources are adequate. They're pretty good, actually. At the moment, I can't think of anything in terms of technical support and the community support that is lacking.

The initial setup is straightforward. There were no major issues. Well, there was one issue, but that was with an older version of it. For some reason, it would not work on a machine that was part of a domain, but I got that sorted out using a later version of the software.

Regarding deployment, I was able to install the software myself. I had it up and running in a couple of days. We went through a period of more than a week to ensure that the backups were being done properly, were being finished properly. I would say within a couple of weeks it settled down and it's been working fine since then. 

In terms of deployment, it usually takes one person. I installed it with a colleague — we're both Veeam certified, so that helps. From the point of view of the end-users, they seemed to grasp it pretty readily. At every institution, there are one or two people that are needed to maintain it — that's it. As I said, it's stable and relatively simple to use. My customers are satisfied with it.

Some of our clients were using solutions like Arc-Serv, Backup Exec. There are a couple of clients who actually evaluated NAKIVO and Veeam a few years ago. There was one client that was comparing Commvault to Veeam. They eventually went with Commvault, but a lot of that has to do with the support of AS400 symbols. They were able to manage their backup costs and a number of different environments using Commvault.

A number of my clients moved from physical machines to virtual ones. They were using primarily Arc-Serv and Veritas Backup Exec, which proved to be a bit inadequate for new virtual environments. It was never seamless. It was never as straightforward as you would have liked. With NAKIVO, we found that it tended to be easier to deal with. Still, even though one of our customers did go with NAKIVO, after a couple of years, they actually moved onto Veeam.

I would absolutely recommend this solution to others.

I've been using it for a number of years and the bottom line is — it works very well and is simple to use. Within an hour or two, my customers are comfortable enough to be able to create their jobs and monitor job progress, etc. If it works for them, it works for me.

Overall, on a scale from one to ten, I would give this solution a rating of nine.
