Veeam ONE Pricing

SL
IT at Bouygues Construction

Our company receives the product at a good price from one of Veeam's integrators, so we don't need to pay the price of the solution declared to the general public.

On a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the price a five.

I find the pricing to be okay. We have to pay for the license yearly. There are no additional costs associated with the product.

The pricing structure for Veeam ONE has changed to what is now called the "VUL" or "Universal License". Previously, people mainly used socket licenses, but this has now changed. The new pricing structure was introduced last year.

The concept of the universal license for Veeam ONE still needs to be explained more to customers. While Veeam ONE is still a good option in terms of pricing, it's important to note that it's only the software component, and a target appliance is also required. This is different from the full appliances and software options like Rubrik and Cohesity. It's crucial to understand that Veeam ONE is not the complete backup solution, but rather a part of it that needs to be combined with additional components.

For now, I think the pricing of Veeam ONE is quite okay for any of the infrastructures, especially for those who want a backup system and a tool that provides monitoring services.

Veeam ONE is cheaper when you compare it with one of its competitors in the ops space, VMware vRealize Operations.

There's a separate department that deals with the licensing, but my company is using CSP licensing, which is the service provider licensing, so my company doesn't fall under the normal volume at the Veeam Universal licensing program. The cost is commit-based and depends on what your point commit is.

The point commit works differently, and it's similar to your sales provider license. If you commit to using one thousand five hundred points, you get a certain price. If you commit to using the eight hundred points scheme, you get a certain price. As you grow the point scheme, you get a different price range, so it doesn't matter whether you're using Veeam One, Veeam Availability Suite, Veeam Backup and Replication, Orchestrate, or whatever the product is.

The licensing fee depends on the licensing model we choose. We can pay for on-premise licensing. We can also choose to pay a yearly fee for support, or we can pre-pay for support five years in advance.

Now, the solution also provides a subscription model. Additional costs depend on the kind of product we purchase.

It is reasonably very cheap. I would rate the licensing model a one out of ten, where one is very affordable and ten is extremely expensive.

There are no additional costs. Most of our customers take it as a bundle with Data Cloud. From advanced, they take the bundle. So it comes with Veeam ONE. So, it's very affordable.

Veeam ONE was procured through a promotion that coupled it with Veeam Backup and Replication. We were interested in a backup solution for our hypervisor environment however Veeam ONE quickly proved to be a solution we intend to license for the long term. As I’ve already mentioned with the ease of setup and use, costs have been minimal.

Overall, we find Veeam ONE to be reasonably priced, especially with our long-term deals. Its capability to manage various aspects of our infrastructure, including on-premises and Azure, adds significant value. While we initially tried Azure native backup, we found Veeam to be more comprehensive and user-friendly. Although we currently use two backup solutions, we are considering consolidating everything under Veeam in the future.
