Veritas Backup Exec Pricing and License Cost

The solution is not the cheapest option. It's pretty pricey. Although I know that we pay for it yearly, in March, I'm not sure of the exact costs. The pricing goes by different types of databases that you're backing up. It's more expensive, for example, if you have an SQL database depending on what you're backing up. I don't recall paying anything beyond a standard licensing fee for the product. View full review »

Licensing is based on the number of ports you have. Even if you aren't using all the ports, you will be charged for them. The license is renewed on a yearly basis and we do pay for support on top of that. View full review »

For Backup Exec usage, the client uses the software with us because we have a license for this product. The license availability we have is for ten years. Licensing is somewhat expensive. They should decrease the price. View full review »

We have licenses that run on a yearly basis. We are paying somewhere around $10-15,000 on licensing a month. We don't have too big of an environment. View full review »

The cost of Veritas is really mid-range for this class of product, I would say. Everything is included in one license and there are no additional, hidden costs. View full review »

I think setup and management to should be easy for a backup applications, because skill personnel for IT Jobs are scarce these days leaving admins with more work. So Automation and simplicity is the way to go to be able to complete your work. I think cost much be seen in relation to the value of what is being backed up. If you purchased a brand new Mercedes, would you purchase low cost insurance for it? View full review »
