Its ability to cover a large spectrum of products and operating systems is invaluable. We evaluated other products but always found certain limitations like some products had only intel-based virtualization, while others had power servers.

But this product offers cross-platform recovery, which is a major advantage over other products.

It supports all kinds of technologies, and I consider it one of the best backup products available. Its versatility and compatibility with multiple systems are its best features.

I am particularly impressed by its compatibility and the granular backup and restore options. The storage connection is also excellent. NetBacku’s compatibility, stability, and catalog management capabilities are what stand out the most.

I like that the solution is compatible with many features and technologies. Specific strengths include granular backup and restore, as well as compatibility with storage, along with its stability and the way it catalogs data.

Disaster recovery primarily involves backup usage. We employ it for both backup and recovery purposes. The backup and recovery processes have been executed multiple times, even restoring data from backups created three to four years ago.

We use the deduplication feature in Veritas NetBackup. This feature helps us to compress the information, especially when utilizing appliances, helping with our storage usage. It has been very beneficial for us. The feature has resulted in significant space savings, especially when performing daily full backups for various applications.

The product itself includes all the necessary database and data security features. Initially associated with Symantec, even after being separated, it retains all its security capabilities independently.

We can easily expand the ability of the solution.

It's great that we can have a backup for the server architecture.

It works with various solutions, including VMware, SolarWinds, and all the OS you can imagine.

The solution centralizes everything. I can do everything from one pane of glass.

If we want to, we can work with tape and make libraries for offline backups. We can do off-site backups and work with cloud services as well.

This is a solution you can rely on. You are sure when you have a backup. When you need to restore, it's always successful. There are no inconsistency issues.

It easily adjusts to your future needs. If you want to, you can easily change your license. You don't need to change your backup solution. It's also easy to add features.

In terms of most valuable features, I like the fact that if you have a bunch of backups, NetBackup gives you the ability to have one master and multiple media servers. What that means is you can have a bunch of sites that all have libraries and you have one master server that controls all the functionality of all the jobs. You don't have to deploy a standup NetBackup solution at each site. You can just deploy the media version for their tape library and have one master server that controls all the jobs.

What I also like about NetBackup, as opposed to most solutions like Rubrik and Cohesity, which don't really support backing up to tape environments, is that NetBackup does. If you are running on a legacy tape environment NetBackup is best. Most of the guys I've seen that use NetBackup have a tape environment.

Its ability to comprehensively back up our entire environment is the most valuable. It provides us with the versatility to back up everything we require which eliminates the need for a secondary backup solution. What we value most is its universality. In a landscape where various software solutions often fall short, especially when it comes to backing up complex systems like SAP, having a single product that covers all our needs is a game-changer. This simplicity not only streamlines operations but also eliminates the need for multiple training and certifications for different tools.

We are quite satisfied with the performance and reliability of the NetBackup product. When it comes to specific features, the most valuable is the Instant Recovery feature, which we call "short-term IR". Instant Recovery allows users to spin up backup images and bring back any VM instantly.

It is called a short-term recovery option because once the backup image has been spun up, the end user can extract whatever data is needed from the image and bring it back into production. This is definitely the most-valued feature for our customers.

Veritas integrates well with the cloud, all databases, all operating systems, all hardware, and all software. Veritas also has solid malware and ransomware protection features. From time to time, we face a new kind of attack, and Veritas has always proven to be the best protection solution for some of my customers. Our customers who have faced ransomware attacks were able to recover their data in less than one day without any stress. Veritas is ransomware resilient and because of its implementation, it is not dependent on the operating system to work. Most of the functions of the Veritas software are isolated from the operating system and it's not dependent on the operating systems involved. This is very important. When some of our operating systems are infected by a virus, Veritas still works perfectly and protects our data. This feature is very well implemented in Veritas NetBackup.

Main features of Veritas NetBackup are:
Log management and truncation.
Third-party integrations.
Hypervisor aware.
Physical and virtual protection.
Cloud system security.
API integration.
Database consistency preservation.
Integrated appliance.
