Visual Studio Test Professional Pricing

Vince Corbin - PeerSpot reviewer
Director at Truly Madly Deeply Ltd

I positioned it at a mid-range level. It isn't an inexpensive solution, but considering its capabilities, it represents excellent value for the functionalities it offers.

The licensing costs are reasonable in comparison to other solutions. One license costs close to $1,300. With five people programming on one license, the cost is around $6,000 per year. With other vendors, that expense could reach $50,000. The server and obviously IT infrastructure is an additional expense.

We pay for licensing annually. The tool is expensive in my region. We work in a client’s environment. So, we follow the client’s requirements.

It's costly, but not too much, and it's just within our budget. One good thing is we can make use of community relations.

There aren't any additional costs, like extra system integration or something. However, there may be some differences in the pricing since the PS will be different. As a standard version, it will have most of the capabilities.

We pay for the license. The licensing model is per year. So, yearly-based license.

I would rate the pricing an eight out of ten, where ten is the most expensive and one is the cheapest.

We aren't bothered by the pricing of the solution at all due to the fact that it provides us with a lot of great tools. The pricing is high, however, it's a single tool that allows you to do a lot of development without having to buy multiple other tools to do the same tasks.
