What do you think of Cisco Identity Services Engine?

Primary Use Case: We are an ISP and we are working on providing ISP solutions for companies. For that reason, we are trying to deploy ISE or other technologies. • Improvements to My Organization: The benefit comes from the fact that all of our clients have Cisco products and we are looking for a tool that can integrate all the devices for a secure facility, monitoring, etc. • Valuable Features: MAC - Member Access Control Integrating all Cisco wireless, networking, switches, routers, firewalls for our customers. • Room for Improvement: In a future release, I would like to see network access control. That is something that customers seem to be looking for.

What needs improvement?

Performance is lacking sometimes and having a RESTful implementation instead of RPC would have been more desirable.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Surprisingly expensive given the price of on-premise solutions. They do deliver on what they are paid for though.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

An internally developed solution. We switched because of contractual security obligations to our clients and opted to... more»
