VMware Aria Operations for Applications Valuable Features

Yves Sandfort - PeerSpot reviewer
CEO & Majority Shareholder at Comdivision Consulting GmbH

For us, the ease of deployment in combination with TMZ was the most important part because we don't have to manually deploy a complex monitoring solution. We can more or less do that with the click of a button, and we are not dependent on the developers to provide us with all the necessary features and functions to make that work. We can just deploy it on a workload cluster and monitor at least a good part of the workload. If we want to go into detail, we clearly need to make changes, but for a good part of application monitoring, it gives us good insights.

The solution is great for virtualization and preparing the infrastructure in Tanzu to test products. It's very fast and has good visibility.

Tanzu itself, integrated with multiple solutions, bestows support and security upon a container platform, especially when it comes to managing open-source container platforms such as Kubernetes.

As a separate operating system, it lets you easily add packages for these aspects of container management (e.g. for updating and automation of SaaS apps, in addition to increasing security and support), and with Tanzu you can integrate with an MSSP to provide even more security without using a proxy.

The company is able to use native Kubernetes. It can support open-source technologies. If you have trouble putting these together with VMware, you get help.

VMware comes with a support team, and if you have trouble, you can easily create a ticket, and VMware will help you. Therefore, the best aspect is the support.

It's a good, useful technology. It does help with third-party integration.

The solution can scale.

It is stable.

Technical support has been okay.

The most valuable feature of this solution is the way you can monitor multiple environments including cloud, hybrid cloud, and private cloud. We also like the way you can do the right sizing.

The monitoring and visibility into public cloud platforms are actually very good. You don't have to manage any infrastructure for the monitoring, as everything is provided for you. On AWS you can monitor everything from S3 to EC2 instances.

The pre-built dashboards are great for incident resolution. They help me to troubleshoot because of the metrics that they provide.
