Helpful support, has an impressive breadth of RPA commands, and a community edition is available

What is our primary use case?

I primarily use Automation Anywhere A2019 to professionally develop RPA bot solutions for our clients and our own internal uses. I personally use the free community edition for personal practice and personal projects outside of a work environment. Our organization has A2019 Enterprise on an on-premise server, but for my home use, I simply log in to my community edition account from my own desktop computer. Our clients use a variety of on-premise and cloud-deployed installations for whatever their specific use case is.

Pros and Cons

  • "The features I most appreciate are the built-in version control system, historical log, audit trail features, and the breadth of RPA action commands included out of the box."
  • "I would like to see a comment feature that allows you to embed comments/notes into an action sidebar, without having to actually take up a line of code in order to write such a statement."

What other advice do I have?

I have done my best to outline my thoughts about the Automation Anywhere platform here, and do not have anything else specific to share.

Very good drag and drop functionality but needs orchestration and needs to offer more scalability

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution to automate a process, be it in any middle office, back office, center office or IT office. It covers all four quadrants.

Pros and Cons

  • "The drag and drop functionality is quite good."
  • "The solution needs to be scalable."

What other advice do I have?

I am a co-founder of a tech company. We are into robotics process automation, as well as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science. So we've been working on across multiple tools available in the market, be it the top front lineup, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Kryon, WinAutomation, etc. I'm not an end-user of the products; my team is around me to pick up on capabilities and learn how to apply them in terms of solving automation issues. We have been working very closely with three or four prominent players in the market and we have the capabilities in house to…

Easy to set up, stable, and very easy to use

What is our primary use case?

Currently, we are in an active search with a provider for on-premise, and therefore we use it to automate our process of moving our permits to electric housing and preparations.

Pros and Cons

  • "The initial setup isn't too difficult."
  • "Technical support needs to be able to respond quickly to queries. Right now, they are much too slow."

What other advice do I have?

We're Microsoft partners. We're using the latest version of the solution right now. I would definitely recommend the product to other organizations. Overall, we've been pretty happy with it, even though we haven't used it for too long. In general, I would rate the solution at an eight out of ten.

Good backend office automation capabilities and competitively priced

What is our primary use case?

We are a tech services company and we implement RPA solutions for our customers, such as the Blue Prism Thoughtonomy Virtual Workforce. We have implemented this solution in a number of different industries including IT, insurance, banking, consumer industries, and retail. We have used it in any industry that you can name, including the airlines. The deployment model and environment vary based on the requirements.

Pros and Cons

  • "This solution comes with a lot of good features."
  • "Selecting the right business processes that are stable enough to automate can be challenging."

What other advice do I have?

There are a lot of RPA vendors available, each with pros and cons. Blue Prism has a lot of capability but the key concern is identifying business processes that can be automated. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

Useful for low and medium complexity work and easy to learn and use, but needs better stability, support, and integration with third-party tools

Pros and Cons

  • "It is very easy to learn and use. It is quite useful for any sort of back-office work. Any kind of work with low and medium complexity is very doable in ProcessRobot. For higher complexity, some refinement is required, but it is doable."
  • "It should be more stable, and their technical support should be faster. It should also have more integration with tools from other vendors, such as SAP and Oracle, and technology partners, such as Salesforce."

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution for small to medium deployments but not for very large-scale deployments. I would rate ProcessRobot a seven out of ten.
