Windows 10 Other Advice

AshishDubey - PeerSpot reviewer

Overall, I would rate the product an eight out of ten. The benefits are more related to software users or people who use Windows in organizations. It's easy to manage domains and configure it. That's a major benefit.

Even if the OS gets corrupted or compromised, users can easily format the system and start over. That can be done very easily.

I would rate this solution 9 out of 10.

My advice is to leapfrog and not look at Windows 10 anymore. Start looking at Windows 11. The long path, the safer approach if you're not an agile organization that makes quick decisions, and you want to run a marathon rather than a sprint, is to go for a traditional upgrade into Windows 10. There is an upgrade path that is already available in a more seamless manner through some of the enterprise tools that are available.

My advice would be to go agile, sprint it out, rip and replace your devices with the brand new Windows 11 and then get it enrolled into your enterprise environment. Of course, doing a POC would be part of the story. It would be better to go with 11 directly because 10 and 11 are not very different. if you go to 10, you will take almost the same time as you would take for 11.

I would urge others planning to use the solution to watch out for problems. With every update, there's something that is coming into its bundle, and as you analyze, it becomes difficult to run a larger number of operations.

The updates are not user-friendly because they do not show that they will not be removed from the system automatically like the previous versions of Windows. It has to be done manually. The space it occupies is too much, especially in terms of GB.

I rate the overall solution a seven out of ten.

For those interested in using Windows 10, I would advise them to stay up to date with security patches. The one bad thing about Windows is that it tends to put the system slowly into acquiesce mode, where things stop operating if you don't apply security patches. When it comes to that, the first level of troubleshooting is installing the operating system patches, and then before you know it, everything's working fine again.

On a scale from one to ten, I would give Windows 10 a nine.

Windows 10 is the best parts of Windows 8 and Windows 7 rolled into one. Windows 8 started a lot of features and functions that shine here in Windows 10, while the criticism has allowed Microsoft to work at user experience more for this iteration. There is a bit too much bloatware by default, and some strange decisions about settings aside, it is a great OS that should only get better with time.

I rate Windows 10 eight out of 10. Microsoft should fix their releases as much as possible before putting them out. When I first installed Windows 10, I had to implement a lot of patches every week. This is not good. And even if we have a support service that prevents malware, we need to install antivirus and check every day. This isn't a problem for Unix-based platforms, which have more resilience for that. It depends on the use case. If you want to use Windows 10 for office applications, it's okay, but I wouldn't recommend it for industrial applications.

I'm just a Windows 10 user. I use it on my own personal PC as well as at work.

We are using the latest version of the solution. We use the most up-to-date as we routinely update the product.

The system, as it is right now, is sufficient for my purposes.

I'd recommend the solution to other users and organizations.

At this time, finding that it meets my needs, I would rate the product at a nine out of ten.

I would not recommend Windows 10 personally, but because it is the most used operating system, most employees in an organization would adapt to it quickly. They are familiar with it.

It is good to look at alternatives and evaluate. At the same time never underestimate the effect of rejection that end users can have if you change the technology.

I would advise others using Windows solutions to invest heavily in the security products, they are the most used operating system. That does not make it less secure than other operating systems but it makes it more targeted. When it is more targeted you will have more vulnerabilities and therefore it is really important to focus on the security aspects when it comes to Windows infrastructure.

I rate Windows 10 a seven out of ten.

I'm not sure which version of the solution I'm using currently is.

Windows 10 is quite a stable version of the solution. If you compare it with Windows 8, it is much, much better. If one wants to use Windows as an operating system, I would recommend it. If one is more comfortable with other operating systems, they can run it in a virtual machine and give partition on Windows so that half of the memory is allocated for other OS.

I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.

Whether or not I would recommend the solution depends on the company. If it's working on open source, then it should stick to Linux. If it's working on closed source too and the company is not worried about the source or any application on the Linux system, then they should remain on Windows. Basically, it depends on the usage.

There is currently no integration of which to speak concerning Windows 10. It is a workstation ware.

The solution is also deployed on-premises. It basically serves as a workstation OS. This is the OS I want, one for use as a normal office work tool.

I use the solution on my personal PC and also in my organization for its purposes of laptop billing.

Everybody's PC runs on Windows 10. We are talking about more than 500 users.

Any advice I have for people considering this product depends on the use case. I would definitely recommend using Windows 10 as an operating system and a familiar choice. But I would definitely also recommend trying other operating systems. It is very important to know what other operating systems have to offer. This one operating system has massive dominance on the market and I do not like the way that 90% of the people are using only Microsoft products without even considering anything else. It is limiting. So my advice is: learn more about other desktop experiences and try Linux as well to see the differences and what it has to offer.

On the scale from one to ten where one is the worst and ten is the best, I would rate Windows 10 as an eight-out-of-ten. Eight is a good rating but Windows can be better.

In summary, my experience with Windows 10 is really good and I like most of the features. It is easy to use compared to other operating systems like Ubuntu. We're just a customer. We don't have a business relationship with Microsoft.

The Microsoft ecosystem works really well when I have an active directory and am using Microsoft Outlook, Exchange, etc. They interact really well together.

In regards to the solution being cost-effective, I would say the latest technologies from Microsoft have an administrative system that is much easier than running IBM. It's now so well interconnected that if you're trying to migrate to the cloud it's easy.

Microsoft really tries to fill all of a company's technical needs, which works really well.

I would rate the solution a solid nine out of ten.

It's really great. Microsoft has done a lot to improve their offerings over the last few years. You can still improve every product somehow. They could always add more features and continuously refine the product. However, at this point, it's working really well for us.

From the last three-four years, while I was using Windows 10, I think it took me some time to really get used to it properly. For example, we had to figure out how to search. Though they have included improvements from a previous version it took time to learn the new changes.

There is not anything to can say negative because you do not have an option to choose in some cases. When you have a PC environment Windows 10 should be there. If you want to review the previous versions or any extensive version of Windows 10, then it may be different. Enterprise has some added features that the basic does not, these advanced features are available for those who need it. There are other solutions such as Mac or Linux, but in a PC environment, you do not have a specific choice.

I rate Windows 10 an eight out of ten.

The use of Windows really depends on individual preference, but I would say Windows 10 is better. If you have the money then you can use Mac OS because it would make a difference if you have an iPhone plus an iPad, and you sync everything. To get all that into place requires a lot of money. Windows has its drawbacks and glitches and some instability, but on the whole it works and it's fine.

There are problems with every solution - I would rate this product an eight out of 10.

They have been evolving Windows 10 since it was released. Every time we open it, there is something new. It used to be that email and other utilities were on the system, but now they are cloud-based. Whether the older or newer interfaces are better, or not, doesn't matter because you get used to it and move along.

In summary, Windows 10 is a good operating system and I recommend it.

I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.
