Windows Server AppFabric OverviewUNIXBusinessApplication

Windows Server AppFabric is the #17 ranked solution in our list of top Application Infrastructure tools. It is most often compared to IIS: Windows Server AppFabric vs IIS

What is Windows Server AppFabric?
Windows Server AppFabric extends Windows Server to provide enhanced hosting, management, and caching capabilities for Web applications and middle-tier services. The AppFabric hosting features add service management extensions to Internet Information Services (IIS), Windows Process Activation Service (WAS), and the .NET Framework 4. This includes Hosting Services and Hosting Administration tools that make it easier to deploy, configure, and manage Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows Workflow Foundation (WF) based services. The AppFabric caching features add a distributed, in-memory object cache to Windows Server that makes it easier to scale out high-performance .NET applications, especially ASP.NET applications.

The workflows we're running are operational and the users are the primary targets. It is just a small number of users but they're dealing with critical workflows.

How are customer service and technical support?

I have not been in contact with technical support for this product.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was very straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

We deployed it in-house. The length of time for deployment was a couple of hours, per environment.
