WordPress Valuable Features

RICARDO FILIPO - PeerSpot reviewer
Wordpress Expert at Codeable

WordPress helps me in two ways. In the first place, WordPress is the most used framework for CMS. 45% of the websites on the Internet use WordPress. Secondly, it is easy to edit content using WordPress. The final user can edit homepages, make blogs, or do something different. But the most valuable thing is that it is customizable. It has a huge community of developers for its free software. It uses the GPL license, so you can edit the code. You can share what you've done and participate for free. Around 10,000 developers are using WordPress, so its code is solid.

The best feature of WordPress is its flexibility. I can utilize free plugins and builders, easily access my website's backend with admin access, and work with SQL databases as a base. While Shopify may have similar features, my experience with WordPress makes it easier for me to have complete control over everything in the website-building process.

The standout feature is its high degree of customization. Creating user-friendly, easily maintainable websites is a breeze, especially with the convenient admin access. Moreover, the flexibility of incorporating plugins into the backend allows us to swiftly implement various functionalities like payment methods, third-party reviews, or integrating external services onto our website.

I appreciate the flexibility of WordPress, particularly its filter and action hooks, which allow for the development of additional features. We can build our own plugins into this. We can be creative while following our clients' requirements. For example, I recently built a custom plugin where the client wanted extra functionalities about membership, special profile pages, and a subscription system. And WordPress has helped a lot, thanks to its flexibility. I could use current plugins on the market and then modify them with my own plugin and collaborate with other existing plugins. So, WordPress has reduced a lot of work for me as a developer. With WordPress, I can achieve the functionality that I want. I don't have to do everything from scratch because a few solutions exist in the market, and I can enhance that.

The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it is quite easy to use. The tool can also be personalized and tweaked, making it an easily adaptable tool for what I need. Considering how it works, the developers in my company can create it in a way that makes it a very simple tool that is easy and intuitive to use. You can save text and add images while remaining easy for a non-expert user.

The most valuable WordPress feature is the content editing. Sometimes I have to build a website from scratch and finding the right content management system can be a hassle. But, with WordPress, the built-in editing capabilities make the process a bit easier.

Also, the themes are useful. They change the look and feel of a website with just one click.

I also like the available plugins. They can be so powerful.

Info Sec Consultant at Size 41 Digital

WordPress started in 2003 and for a long time it was viewed as a blogging platform but in the last 4 years it has come on quite a transformational journey. With it's wealth of low cost and well support plugins, it can provide customer solutions to even large scale membership based websites.

WordPress is  easy to install and is a really nice CMS . The ability to amend the PHP to add extra functionality of to tweak things is also a great bonus. The use of PHP also helps if you need to buy help in from a coder - PHP is common so there is a massive pool of devs.

It also doesn't need a massive server to run. That's great for smaller businesses who don't want the hassle of large cloud contracts.

Ease of use and the variety of plugins. Because it is such a well-known and popular product, there are a ton of development companies and users creating plugins and solutions for it, which makes it adaptable and easy for people who have fewer technical skills.

With Gutenberg, Wordpress is poised to become even more accessible to the average website manager, so minimal knowledge of css or html is necessary. However, Gutenberg is still very buggy, so be sure to use another builder in the meantime (e.g. Beaver Builder).

I like how people are able to learn to tag.

It offers categories where you are able to search and go back.

I like how it gives the opportunity to have a discipline of input and discipline of letting people see how you're progressing and making things visible. The people that I follow on WordPress show their thinking and test it out.

I like how it integrates graphics and words, and more generally, the way people can develop the choices of spaces for different websites.

It creates beautiful spaces and some people are just great, in terms of being creative.
