I suggest using the concurrent user licensing scheme.

I did not use another solution prior to this one.

My advice is to use Citrix XenApp on Windows VMs, based on VMware Hypervisor.

How has it helped my organization?

It increased the no. of users and reduced traffic and data connection cost in addition to increased user productivity.

What needs improvement?

Eliminating the need of Windows terminal server because it increases the cost for each user as each PC that needs to connect must have its own terminal service license.

What is most valuable?

I found the ease of deployment, scalability, and security to be to our benefit when supplying virtual applications/resources to our clients.

How has it helped my organization?

It has allowed us to provide network/application resources to anyone anywhere, no matter what kind of device the end user had, we were usually able to find a compatible Citrix receiver app. That gave our user base flexibility to be anywhere… more»

What needs improvement?

Printing is huge, there are a lot of shortfalls with supporting printing over XenApp. I know it isn't all a Citrix issue, Microsoft needs to do some work to get printing streamlined.

What is most valuable?

ICA/HDX optimization policies.

How has it helped my organization?

XenApp has helped many of my customers with remote access of applications, access on different platforms.

What needs improvement?

Dependency on server virtualization after v7.x is an issue which I encountered in small environments.

It is a bit costly, but enterprise class features come with a cost.

I used different application virtualization solutions, but I found XenApp to be the best of them.

What do you think of XenApp (Citrix Virtual Apps)?

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use it for user data access and for a virtual desk top.

How has it helped my organization?

It allows our users to connect back up to a central location for our data center to do away with individual desktop controls.

What needs improvement?

The monitoring and management is in need of improvement.

One to three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability has improved through the course of the last three upgrades.

The scalability is fine. We have about 400 users, who are supported by six staff members.  We use the product company-wide throughout 40 different locations, and we currently do not have plans to…

What do you think of XenApp (Citrix Virtual Apps)?

What is our primary use case?

Application publishing through the Citrix. We have been using Citrix XenApp to  deliver the business application to remote locations of our company. We highly  reduce our bandwidth through the XenApp application publishing.

How has it helped my organization?

It has improved delivering applications to remote locations with its lower bandwidth utilization. It gives better performance to the user though the lowest bandwidth.

What is most valuable?

Citrix Xenapp application publishing is a valuable feature that we highly utilize in our organization.
