xMatters Stability

Director of Enterprise Reporting, Visualization & Analytics at a university with 1,001-5,000 employees

The stability has been great. I can't think of a time in the last two years that it's been down when we've needed it. They've done upgrades, but I can't remember it ever being down.

The tool is highly stable. In our ten years of use, we had one major issue, but that was a problem with Google Cloud that took out a lot of different systems. It wasn't an issue with xMatters, which was affected by a more significant problem. Aside from that one issue, I can't fault the solution's stability.

It is very stable. We've only ever had two issues with xMatters as a vendor, and when we did have those issues, they were on top of it and fixed those issues immediately.

The stability of the solution is very good. In the last four years we may have had one or two outages. They're very infrequent. We really haven't had any issues of note. It has been working well.

I have not had any complaints since we have been using this. I haven't heard any really bad feedback. If we did receive bad feedback, it is really more about people complaining that xMatters keeps calling them, but that is the way I configured it. If there is a major incident, until you pick up, then it will keep calling you. So, if they are annoyed with the amount of time it calls them, then that is not xMatters' problem.

I have only heard a couple of complaints about not receiving alarms. That was once or twice in the two years that I have been using it. They didn't get a notification once or twice. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get in touch with xMatters at that time, but it wasn't really a big deal so I just let it slip away.

It does not require any type of maintenance. There is really nothing that we need to do to care and feed it. There are always new integrations that we are working on as well as ideas of how we can use it better by taking advantage of some of its feature sets.

Its stability is very good. We very rarely had issues. They could have also been of our own making because we occasionally do flood the system with alerts because we get event storms that end up spawning thousands of alerts, but generally, the product is very stable. It very rarely lets us down.

The xMatters application is very stable. They also always keep the customer up to date with advanced notifications, e.g., if there is any scheduled system downtime. Usually, those downtimes are minutes. However, they will notify their clients when those things happen and are always able to provide the root cause, such as what took place and why the system was impacted. So, as a customer of xMatters, we never get left in the dark, trying to see what is going on.

All the maintenance is done from their end. They also proactively reach out when there is something causing some type of configuration abnormality in xMatters, which would be caused by perhaps one of our configurations. They will proactively reach out, and say, "Hey, you probably want to get in touch with your end user and help them fix it accordingly." However, that is really rare. In the past year and a half, this happened just one time. There is one team who has a workflow that contained an element that is no longer supported, and that was resolved very quickly.

I only recollect once that we needed some maintenance, but that was also part of the 99 percent availability. The maintenance was done with zero downtime. I don't recall that we have had to do any maintenance on xMatters.

Its stability is excellent. I've never had a situation where xMatters has gone down at all. I never look at it as a tool about which I'm concerned that it may not work. I'm always able to get access to it. Whenever we needed it, we were always able to get the communication out. It is very reliable.

Regarding issues with stability, none that I can recall. There have been some scheduled maintenance and downtimes, of course, but we've always been told ahead of time and have been able to plan accordingly. I honestly can't recall an unscheduled outage that we've experienced with the product.

We haven't really had any issues. In the last five years, there has been a 15 to 30 minutes outage here and there. It's usually because of an cloud issue or issue related to single sign-on doesn't allow us to access the tool during the outage. From the tool standpoint, it has been pretty dependable, and we're fairly pleased with that.

Assoc Dir. Service Management and Standards at a tech services company with 51-200 employees

We have had outages with the product. We have experienced functionality (defects), such as conference bridges can only be opened for four hours at a time and people get kicked out. That has caused some issues during some of our longer outages.

We have not contacted tech support regarding this, because usually by the time we get a chance to do it, the system is already back online. We have had some outages in the Asia Pac region. We have had only about two outages in the North America region regarding messaging. Most of the outages have been in the European or Asia Pacific region.
