SAP Jam vs. Yammer

I need to make a choice between Jam and Yammer.  My preference at the moment is for Jam because of it's integration with the HR processes and the immediate productivity return associated with that.  Yammer is better all around and is free of charge but is also a bit free-floating in the organisation - disconnected from the real work.

I'm also concerned about the future of Yammer now that Microsoft has acquired LinkedIn.

Thoughts?

From the limited experience I have with both, I prefer SAP Jam, as it’s configurable and has richer functionality. Yammer is fine for discussion but less for content.
The positioning of SAP Jam in the SAP portfolio looks also more sure and well thought, while the way Microsoft is integrating Sharepoint, Yammer and now LinkedIn triggers some questions.

As the previous posts by geeks recommends, if your requirement is for SAP integration then go for JAM. Jam is a good tool for learning management, HR etc. if your requirement is enterprise collaboration then Yammer is a superior tool.

If you are O365 shop, Yammer will be your best bet here I feel, using the full suite of productivity tools together really works for us and with Sharepoint templates bespoke designed using our companies design language system it really feels like ours. The tech is not the most important aspect. Getting the culture right to make use of any tools is key. I have struggled to see how to get value out of Slack in a large network environment.

Hi all,

We had the same dilemma. In short: If you want to integrate with SAP, Jam is the best option. We currently have two connections to JAM. One for HR and one for CRM. As always integration is the issue and when it comes to SAP, JAM is the better option and is also playing more and more of a dominant role in the SAP Roadmap.

Hope this helps.
