We are a partner with ABBYY. I'm using version 12. I believe it is the latest version. I haven't seen any updates as of recently. There could be a version 14 out, however, I'm not sure. We're using the desktop version. I would advise those considering the solution to watch the YouTube lessons and pay for Professional Services training and assistance. At this point, I would rate the solution at a seven out of ten.

The main difficulty, as I mentioned, is to get people started on it if they're not specifically trained on ABBYY or not an IT professional. It's initially quite difficult and more so now that the learning material is not freely accessible online. Other than that, it's just a matter of following the documentation and using it. I rate the solution nine out of 10.

If you are looking for an on-prem solution, ABBYY would be better, but if you are looking for a cloud solution, you can use other platforms. Google and Microsoft have great data extraction tools that are cloud-based. I would rate ABBYY FlexiCapture an eight out of 10. Its licensing price is high, and there are no training materials that you can use easily. There should also be a trial or community version.

My advice when doing the implementation is to do the practice mode rather than only going through the certification and documentation. It is better to implement the model, instead of using the generic model. I would recommend this solution to others. I rate ABBYY FlexiCapture an eight out of ten.

Anyone using this needs to know they won't get 100% accuracy. Human intervention is required depending on the quality of the document. Clearly, if the quality is good, the results will be better. ABBYY has been on the market for over 20 years so they're well supported including all other RPA tools. Competitively, I think ABBYY is better than other OCR tools. It's good to test the solution with multiple samples. Once you create a layout, test it with multiple documents and see what you're able to achieve. If I see that 30 out of 100 documents are not processed 100%, I'll retrain it to improve the accuracy level for when the same document comes in next time. I rate this solution a six out of 10.

I would highly recommend this solution. My advice is to engage with a professional services provider at the beginning for installation, deployment, and training. Don't try to do it on your own because it is a very powerful and big solution. You'll have to learn it before you try to use it. Don't do it yourself. I would rate ABBYY FlexiCapture a nine out of ten. It is missing only RESTful API.

I think each company needs to make a judgment as to whether you can handle a technically challenging solution, because ABBYY is challenging. If you need to have your people trained ahead of time to get some support built into your organization, you should do that. If your organization is not very tech savvy, this solution might not work for you very well. We still need to carry out more evaluations. For example, the out of the box, SDK support. I'd like to know how much free SDK support we would get if we try to build a wrapper around ABBYY. I think those are the things that we need to evaluate on our end, but overall I think we are pretty happy with this tool. I think this is a good solution and would rate it an eight out of 10.

My advice for anybody who is considering this product is that if they have many different types of documents that need to be captured, then this is a good option. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten. Not a ten because sometimes some documents have handwritten data. If this improved, I would rate it a ten out of ten. The product is user-friendly. I would recommend it.

This is absolutely a solution that I would recommend. If you are having problems with handwritten text and the recognition of data then ABBYY is the place to go. I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.

My advice to anybody who is considering this solution is to ask for case studies and examples in advance. Ask for real examples on how to set it up. One example might be for invoices, or for formulas that should be inside the product, and how to set them up quickly. We asked for automatic invoices and they said that they didn't do that yet. We had to put a great deal of effort into this, and it took a lot of time and our money to invent our process together with ABBYY. If we would have had some examples then we would not have had to start from scratch. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.
