Per the customer requirement, we are providing consultancy services and providing the licenses, as well as implementation services to clients. We're currently using the latest version of the solution. I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten. We're quite satisfied with its capabilities. I'd recommend the product to other users and companies.

Veritas NetBackup is suitable for medium to large enterprises. Backup Exec, a lighter version of NetBackup, is better suited for small businesses which are Windows-based or Linux-based, On a scale from one to ten, I would give Veritas NetBackup a seven.

I have a lot of experience with it and I have a lot of experience with Veeam. I think that the only weakness with Veritas is the user interface. It's not friendly and it's not easy to understand. For functionality in protecting the data, it has all of the requirements to protect any workload on the virtual machines. It's the best solution in the market right now. If you are considering Veritas, you should have a qualified team that is trained in using NetBackup. If the team does not have the required experience, they will find it difficult and they will think that it an issue with the product. It is a good product as long as you have a good team to manage it at each stage. I would rate Veritas NetBackup a seven out of ten.

I trust Veritas. I would recommend this solution to a friend or to any company. But remember, what you'll get from it depends on your personal ability. Overall, on a scale from one to ten, I would give this solution a rating of eight. If the support was faster and the solution was more user-friendly, I would give it a higher rating.

About seven or eight years back, Veritas and Commvault were considered the de facto leaders in the backup landscape. During that time, there were no major alternatives such as Veeam, and many customers relied solely on Veritas and were loyal to the product. But nowadays, new customers have options, especially when it comes to smaller scale backup solutions for the small-medium type of companies. With us, we now see a multitude of different clients, from small companies to the enterprise. The average company that is using multiple virtualization platforms, or physical platforms running Unix systems, will typically go with Veritas NetBackup rather than Veeam because Veeam is still in its infancy period when it comes to supporting these kinds of platforms. However, it does depend on the environment. Some of the smaller clients that we see will only have 4-5 VMs, and in that situation NetBackup typically won't be a good match because it's oriented towards a more sophisticated environment, especially concerning licensing. When we do pre-sales with our customers, we tell them that they need to have back-to-back support from their executives, and we always teach them to allocate their reports to the OPEX budget, because they will need to have at least the latest supported version at all times running alongside their production servers. Unfortunately, somehow, there are always one or two customers who are still using unsupported machines. I would rate Veritas NetBackup an eight out of ten.

I received the most recent version one week ago, and it seems that they have covered all of the loopholes. This is a very competitive product because all of the latest features and technology is in there. Product-wise, this is a good one and I recommend it. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

We are resellers. We resell both Veritas and Quorum products. In Malaysia, solutions like this are typically installed on-premises. Overall, I would rate the solution at a seven out of ten. Veritas is a very good solution. I'd recommend other organizations to try it, however, to always do proper capacity planning before going with Veritas, as they may not be happy with the price later if they just assume the prices. They should do a thorough assessment before purchasing NetBackup.

I would recommend this solution. We are a system integrator, and we have a lot of users who have been using this solution for ten years. The only problem that we are facing now is of speed. We will continue to use it, but we are also looking for a better solution to back up more quickly. Speed is our main requirement. We might continue to use Veritas if they can provide a parallel solution, a cluster solution, or a cloud solution to back up our data more quickly. Otherwise, we will switch to another vendor. I would rate Veritas NetBackup a nine out of ten.

I would not recommend this solution to others because of the cost, but as an option, I would say yes. Rather than NetBackup, I would go with Veeam or Commvault. I would rate Veritas NetBackup a six out of ten.

As a technical solution, this product is right up there. I would recommend the solution but it would depend on the use cases and the load. Depending on the load, there might be other, more cost-effective solutions. I would rate this solution a nine out of 10.

This backup and recovery product is good, although looking at my current environment, it is pretty old. My advice for anybody who is considering Veritas NetBackup is to assess the feasibility of it in their environment. I would rate this solution a six out of ten.

There are plenty of new generation backup solutions on the market that are designed for today, for private or public clouds. I would recommend a hybrid of cloud and on-premises. Look for a solution that can provide a hybrid. I would rate this solution a four out of ten.

We're a NetBackup customer and we have a close partnership with Veritas. We don't provide any services to clients. We just happen to use it. The product itself is great, however, the pricing is very high compared to the competition. Veritas has been quite well known in the market for some time now. They have a lot of features as well. However, at the end of the day, it's always the cost that we have to consider. I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.

My advice to anybody who is considering Veritas NetBackup is that it's not a bad product and it's good to be prepared. I suggest reviewing the price in advance. I find it to be not a bad product, but it would be much better with improvements to pricing and performance. I would rate this solution a six out of ten.

We're Veritas partners, however, we are independent and completely neutral towards our partners. I'm a consultant. I don't use the product. I evaluate the product for clients. The clients are the ones who use the product. I'd advise other organizations to look at both their on-prem and cloud together. It's good to manage everything from one place. I'd rate the solution eight out for ten.

I would recommend this product because of the ease of use, the simple installation and that the solution is on cloud rather than on-prem. It's important to research options and to do fact finding before getting into it. You need to know that this is the solution you're looking for. Finally, no matter how well your environment is maintained, or well kept, or how well your disaster recovery plans are in place, at some point you will need a backup solution. I would rate this solution an eight out of 10.

Since we are a service provider, we have a close relationship with Veritas. We offer services based on their technology and on their product. I'd advise others considering implementing the solution to first evaluate against use cases. Depending on the use cases, the cost can change quite a lot. Overall, I'd recommend the solution, however. It's quite good and very reliable. I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.

My advice is that it is a perfect product. I would rate it an 8 out of 10 overall. I wouldn't give it a ten because it doesn't have the necessary full backup capabilities and because it is missing functionalities like the archiving feature which is not there.

I would advise not to use this tool. I think between the licensing issues and the older solution mentality it is not a great solution. They really have not kept up with the times.
