What are some common use cases for SAP and non-SAP testing?
RAM’s answer below is very detailed.
The reason SAP automation is sonchallenging is the element descriptions in the DOM are all in German. This is the reason the jobs make little sense. VA1 is initials for Vert - Sales in German.
For SAP TEST Automation specific tools like QTP, Worksoft, Tricentis are used because these tools have integrated their tools to SAP specific GUI and come with ready connectors to SAP.
Further these tools are integrated to SAP Solution Manager for Test Management./ Microfocus ALM/ they have their own Test Management tools.
Test data Management given that SAP is a packaged integrated application is different from Non SAP systems,.
SAP Testing frameworks leverage these Testing tools.
In the non SAP Applications choice is Selenium based framework.
SAP testing is more about the Integration testing, SAP have modules and these modules functionality can be tested only by the well known persons/experts of the Module. for example finance is a module and it have several other prerequisites, which are to be known before to testing. So SAP testing is not different for non SAP testing but Module/Domain experts can test it very easily, non SAP testers should first learn on the SAP modules how they function and all based on that they can do SAP testing.
I'm working for a company with 1000+ employees and I'm exploring two products: Panaya and Tricentis.
How good is Panaya Test Dynamix in comparison with Tricentis?
