@Rony_Sklar I am in the planning phase to roll out Nutanix Files. As I am using Nutanix AOS/AHV for the last 3 years, now I feel more confident and comfortable to scale further and roll out Nutanix Files.
In basics, Object Storage is used for a massively scalable and flexible infrastructure, where a single very large storage name-space is required. Traditional storage may not work for you in that scenario; on the other hand, object storage is not fit for the transactional type of workloads.
Some of the features that I think the Object Storage should have: very large and flexible data/content store, metadata-based data management, multiple storage tiers (SAS/SSD/SAS/SATA/tape/Cloud), efficient to/from replication and data protection with all tiers of storage, multiple geo-distributed sites support, deployment flexibility (VMs/Hardware Appliances/Physical installation), and storage management simplicity.
What is the difference between objects and files? Objects are large collections of data collecting or storing items. Files are a single potential piece within an object.
Ease of use. Scalability with performance enhancement. Analytical capabilities with customized reporting.
