One of the best features of SAP Cloud Platform is that it is web-based and you can log in from anywhere in the world. SAP Cloud Platform is suitable for companies of any size; it works well with both large and small companies. Its stability is great and the ability to expand is very simple. SAP Cloud Platform offers smooth integration and data synchronization - the push and pull of data is extremely valuable.

The functionality with SAP Cloud Platform can be difficult. We have experienced some challenges with usability and not being able to get all of the information we need. We would also like to see improvement with security, authentication, and reporting.

Microsoft Azure is extremely scalable with the capability to build an environment quickly. The automation and agility of Microsoft Azure is very valuable. It offers a great information protection feature - you can create custom labels for different documents and files. This keeps data more organized and secure.

Support with Microsoft Azure depends on the plan you purchase; lower-tier plans get limited support. Microsoft Azure can be a very expensive solution overall and can be complex to set up and manage. Integration with other products needs to be better. Microsoft Azure seems to be a bit slow in catching up with what other solutions have to offer.

Conclusion

Microsoft Azure’s biggest downside is the lack of functionality. SAP Cloud Platform provides better integration with other operating systems.

If you or your clients are fully committed to the Microsoft ecosystem, then Microsoft Azure is probably the best option for you.

For those that use other ecosystems, SAP Cloud Platform would be a better fit as they offer better integration with other solutions and broader overall functionality.

Here are some key points to consider when making this decision:

  1. Integration with SAP: If your organization heavily relies on SAP applications and services, SAP Cloud Platform might offer better integration options and be a more seamless fit for your existing SAP ecosystem.

  2. Comprehensive Cloud Services: While SAP Cloud Platform is specialized for SAP applications, Microsoft Azure is a full-fledged cloud platform offering a wide range of services, including infrastructure, databases, analytics, machine learning, and more. If you require a broader spectrum of cloud services beyond SAP, Azure may be a better fit.

  3. Scalability and Flexibility: Both platforms are designed to be scalable, but Azure's extensive global presence and diverse service offerings can provide greater flexibility in tailoring the cloud environment to your organization's specific needs.

  4. Existing Infrastructure and Expertise: Consider the existing technology landscape within your organization. If you already have a significant investment in SAP technologies and expertise, it might be more straightforward to stick with SAP Cloud Platform for consistency and ease of management.

  5. SLA and Security: Evaluate the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) offered by each platform to ensure they meet your business requirements. Both platforms have robust security measures, but assess whether they align with your data protection and compliance needs.

  6. Cost Considerations: Compare the pricing models and costs of both platforms based on your usage patterns and expected growth. Different cloud providers offer various pricing structures, and it's essential to understand how they align with your budget and long-term plans.

  7. Community and Support: Examine the community and support resources available for each platform. Robust community support can be valuable in troubleshooting issues and gaining insights from other users.

  8. the decision should be based on a thorough assessment of your organization's specific requirements, long-term strategy, and alignment with your current IT landscape. It may be helpful to involve key stakeholders and IT experts in the decision-making process to ensure a well-informed choice that will support your business's success.
