Bas was born in the southern part of the Netherlands but has spent much of his adult life in the United States. Since a young age, he has always loved working with technology and inventing new ways to implement it. Before his teens, one of his first projects was to build a system to detect when his mother was on her way up to his room; this helped to develop his passion in home automation and fueled his philosophy that technology should bridge the gap between hardware and software to create user-friendly experiences that can be enjoyed by all, regardless of technical expertise.

Bas founded a domotics company; the core technology developed by his team has been acquired, by a Fortune 100 technology company. Hereafter, Bas has been consulted with several companies to either develop the next generation of wearable and mobile technologies or establishing engineering teams domestically and abroad.

After 5 years of assisting companies to develop and manufacture high-technology products in Asia; currently, Bas is a pioneer utilizing awesome internet technologies developing software tools.
