Tableau works with a large volume of data because , it use BIZQL, this is a private query languaje for data, this algoritms are similar to Columnar NoSql

Commented on Cognos is the most stable BI environment, but it gets far too complex for advanced setup.
I think that Cognos is a comprehensive suite for bi, with a user interface quite friendly, I think that's the difference from the rest.
