I tend to look at network performance from a VoIP perspective, so I'm looking at things like latency, packet loss, jitter, and end-to-end QoS.

About me

A telecom professional with a software engineering background, I have held positions as a VoIP engineer, VoIP interoperability testing manager, systems engineer, software development manager, and software engineer. Experience includes Microsoft Lync 2013 and 2010 (with MCTS, MCITP, and PSLP certifications), Cisco Unified Communications product line, and AudioCodes, Sonus, Acme Packet, and Cisco gateways and SBC’s.

Although I wear multiple hats in our organization, my official title is “Principal, Microsoft Lync PSLP”. In this role I am responsible for developing tekVizion’s Spotlight Support practice, a multi-tenant NOC providing monitoring and Tier-1 and Tier-2 support for enterprise Lync deployments. Near-term plans include expanding this practice to include additional enterprise voice deployments, including Cisco and Avaya.

Previous roles included Systems Engineer, Software Development Manager, and Software Development Engineer in Alcatel's (formery DSC Communications) AIN product development group, and Software Development Engineer at Davox Corporation (now known as Aspect Software).

Specialties: Voice over IP, SIP, SIP Trunking, VoIP Interoperability, Requirements Analysis, Engineering Management
