About me

Jesús M. Pizarro Rodríguez is the Vice President of Enterprise Accounting and Controller of Heifer International. In that role, he supervise accounting and global financial consolidation, as well provide leadership of the Agresso ERP system. He started with Heifer in December 2009 as Director of Finance and Administration for the Americas.

Prior to Heifer International, Mr. Pizarro was a sole practitioner, where he worked as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with small businesses and small not-for-profit organizations in Puerto Rico. Previously, he was a Deputy Director and Project Manager of the Management Information System’s Office of the Electoral Commission of Puerto Rico. His major accomplishments was a successful implementation of the government financial system (2002-2003), the vote-by-phone system for people with disabilities (2007-2008), and internal control reviews of the Electoral Systems for the General Election of 2004 and 2008. He also was Controller for Archer Daniel Midlands (ADM) in Puerto Rico, where he worked for seven years (1993-2000) and led the Y2K compliance project.

Mr. Pizarro earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, a master in Public Administration from the City University of New York and a MBA majoring in management information systems from the University of the Sacred Hearth in Puerto Rico. He is member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Puerto Rico Society of CPAs.
