I was among one of the earliest teams of field “Regional Systems Engineers” for Atria Software, Inc., the original maker of the ClearCase and ClearQuest product lines that was eventually acquired by Rational Software. I was the second field engineer/consultant in the Washington, D.C. (Virginia) sales office, holding that position for 2 years between 1995-1997. Beginning in 1998, I went out on my own as an independent contractor specializing in Collaborative Application Lifecycle Management (CALM) tools in support of large software development efforts, and have been working in that capacity ever since.

Most recently I have turned my attention toward connecting application development methodologies such as Agile and Continuous Integration with rapid release and deployment initiatives now commonly referred to in the industry as "DevOps." By leveraging the latest technologies such as IBM Jazz-based applications, and combining continuous build techniques, configuration management disciplines, and automated deployment capabilities, I have vastly improved application deployment turnaround times for my clients, allowing them to reach their goals continuous and rapid delivery of software releases.

My clients have included commercial companies and government agencies including IBM, Raytheon, Ericsson, Northrop Grumman, EMC, Freddie Mac, the Department of State, the National Archives and Records Administration, the National Science Foundation, the FDA, and the IRS among others. I have assisted each of those organizations in significantly improving efficiencies in large enterprise software development programs utilizing industry best practices and cutting edge technologies.
