About me

AVAILABLE NOW

I entered the financial services industry as a Portfolio Accountant/Supervisor moving overseas in 1992 for Liaison & Management roles. (Boston, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia) Settling in London in 1995, I soon led the Continental Europe custody team.)

After 11 years in Mutual Funds & Custody Ops, I moved to Business and Technology Project Management from 1998 to 2003, building local solutions and deploying corporate technology.

In 2004, I ran 4 EMEA IT teams providing support for mainframe and mid-level apps used by business teams across the region.

In 2008, with a career path spanning continents, business lines, and technologies, I transferred to the trading front office as a member of the Securities Finance (SecLending) division.

From 2008 - 2015, I expanded that remit, acquiring in-depth knowledge of all Trading businesses at State Street through various IT, Compliance, and Risk projects eventually becoming the Global Markets UK Business Continuity Manager and Information Security Officer.

Throughout that period, I adopted Business Intelligence (QlikView) analysis and design skills, and linked them to many Collaborative (social media) and business data sources that surrounded my role.

This has given me a unique combination of Financial Services product knowledge, a deep understanding of how to capture data, visualise it, analyse it, and if necessary, fix it, which can be a substantial addition to any organisation. My ability to articulate and mentor those skills to others at all levels has been applied over and again to provide a lasting impact.

I was recently made redundant from State Street. I remain in London, dividing my time between taking a well-deserved break, learning to play guitar badly, working with www.Charis.Works, a software start-up, and planning for my future.

I am available immediately for full time, part time, or contracting roles in the UK or EMEA region. I can be flexible. I am also available for volunteering.
