I agree with Sam, I think true vendor neutrality is key in order to really have the freedom to choose and migrate between existing, new and future technologies - i.e. on prem, to a diversity of clouds, containers and whatever new technology is coming that we don't even know…

About me

Some have called me a growth hacker, others a dev community evangelist. I don't do code, but I get code.

What do I bring to the table? I work hard, live and breathe tech - and am always looking for new challenges, even side projects.

I'm a ten finger doer and pragmatist. I do what needs to get done - independent of titles and politics.

I'm working on delivering a new form of marketing through online and offline engagement channels. Out with the dinosaur stuff...and hopefully even be part of trend to bring the industry to go greener - and possibly be more social - but not in the virtual sense.

Skills I'm working on: guerrilla marketing, intelligent crowd-sourcing, and deep analytics and measurement skills to really help me find that tipping point.

Skills that are just a means to an end: brand management, equity, and awareness, corporate communications, lead and sales driven marketing, tech savvy so I can manage pretty much any new technology.

Things I believe in: Menschkeit.

A document I highly value and would like to attempt to align my life with: http://slidesha.re/14Du8Tk (without any delusions that I'll ever work at Netflix).

Ping me on Twitter @shar1z with interesting ideas, or check out my blog: shar1z.tumblr.com.

Other initiatives I'm working on - co-organizing meetups and community events.
