About me

John Parker has focused his career on helping companies create disruptive competitive advantage through information technology. He has worked with companies including Merrill Lynch, SunTrust Banks, Knight-Ridder, Oracle and Informatica, focused on digital transformation to drive revenue, strategy, customer loyalty and the brand.

Currently, John is at Informatica, where he leads worldwide strategic business development for master data management. Previously John was responsible for worldwide sales and marketing for Oracle’s data-as-a-service (DaaS) products. At Oracle, he helped build the Siebel MDM and Data Quality team that was acquired by Oracle.

John also served as COO, then President and CEO for Sectorbase which later became Revere Data. He built this company from the startup group of six to 145 employees, raising over $20m in capital and securing 7 of the top 10 Wall Street securities firms as clients.

Previously, John was Global VP/GM at Vitria Technology, leading the firm’s Financial Services vertical and pioneering a new product for straight-through transaction processing in conjunction with Accenture. He was VP Operations for Knight-Ridder Financial which was bought by Bridge Information Systems, where he became VP Sales. As a portfolio manager for SunTrust Banks, John was part of the team running the bank’s $9.8b investment portfolio. Serving on several Boards, John is an active team builder, coach and mentor.

John graduated from Emory University with a BA in Economics. He holds 2 patents in data management, in areas including data schema and classification methodologies. He is very active in his community in sports, music & performing arts groups, economic development initiatives, children's programs and children's charities. He and his wife Julie have four grown children. John loves music and can sometimes be found tickling the ivories with local music groups, provided they are a tolerant bunch.
