About me

I have always viewed HR as a strategic function within an organization that can drive financial results and improve market position. I've been described by colleagues throughout my career as the 'anti-HR human resources person.' I've worn that as a badge of honor ever since...my goal in leading any human capital function is to build strategic and top-performing companies and cultures that deliver productivity and profitability. My HR teams do not get in the way of business...they make the business better and more agile. I am able to achieve this through collaborative communications with inter-disciplinary functions. The 'human' side of the business is not lost with me; culture and engagement are critical to any organization and building this starts with not only HR but every leader in the company.

Starting my own multi-channel food service company was honestly the best thing I could have done for my HR career. I had hands-on experience running marketing, finance, sales, operations, and supply chain functions and was able to quickly identify the competencies needed in each area to be successful. This experience only enhanced my ability to strategically align talent and live in the shoes of leaders within other functions to understand what keeps them up at night.

I've been fortunate to have worked in diverse industries (profit and non profit) and companies that range from start ups to high-growth and large global organizations. The industries include health care, hospitality, waste management, distribution, eCommerce, retail, and financial services.
