Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is a very user-friendly product.""Governance and ease of use are why I think a lot of people like Box, including ourselves. Basically, we're concerned about what information is being sent to Box, so we use a lot of the Box governance features to make sure that what is being sent to Box is appropriate. If it is not appropriate, it is not allowed to be sent. It is also pretty easy to use. It is the easiest to use for customers and for technologists.""I like that Box makes it easy to deploy virtual machines.""File sharing, authorization on the back, its ease of use and reliable uptime performance are valuable features of this solution.""The ability to collaborate around data anywhere, anytime is the most powerful features of Box.""The system's performance is impressive, and file sharing is notably straightforward.""File sharing with collaborators not on the same domain with offline access from multiple devices: I work on many projects that are multi-organizational, such as with customers, suppliers, or acquisitions.""The interface is very good."

"They are launching more and more features for mobile, which I understand our customers appreciate.""We find Google Drive and mail useful for our services.""The email is excellent.""I think it is a great subscription for me. I think it is important, especially when making an internal email subscription. For example, I can easily create my colleague's email address, and we can use it. I benefited from G Suite. I am using the G Suite Drive, which provides 30GB of storage, and it is helping for me. I think it's better for me.""A complete integrated environment for our business. I get Google docs, Gmail, online space, and calendar where I can easily perform all documentation, storage, and communications online.""The product is user-friendly and knows how to appeal to a user. Google Docs accepts some of our requirements. Its most valuable feature is performance. The product's integrations are good.""G Suite Enterprise is user-friendly, and the technical toolkits and other information are on the website. Additionally, the technical documents are comprehensive.""From a security point of view, Google will alert you if anything strange is happening. They will flag it for you so you are aware."

Cons
"The solution's data security should be improved.""Like all cloud platforms, there are always areas of improvement around sync to local devices.""I would love to see the ability to invite collaborators extended to a file level, not just the folder level.""Working on documents in real-time is sometimes faulty and could be improved.""If you want to delete something in Box, you have to do it manually, one by one. That was my recent experience. They might have a bulk delete, but I could not find that option. If you want to delete something, you have to go to each and every file and delete it.""With OneDrive, you can continuously save your files over a Box folder. That is something I wish we could have.""The UI should be faster. Sometimes it lags when switching between documents.""I haven't really come across a case where we're not able to use it for what it is, so I don't really have anything holding us up or any customers holding us up at this point that I know of. There are always some limitations, but as a technologist, I just live with them, and there is always room for improvement, but I don't have anything quantifiable."

More Box Cons →

"The solution could improve by having more frequent updates.""They can maybe improve its graphical user interface. Google is not really known for having a PC interface. It is just a nice-to-have feature.""G Suite is not as powerful as Microsoft Office Suite, so sometimes we have to change to Excel and PowerPoint.""Improvements to G Suite would be the ability to collaborate more easily and better quality video compression in Google Meet.""I would rate the stability a five out of ten.""In Google Meet, there is no feature for recording a meeting. It should have a feature for recording.""The solution needs to be more user-friendly and improve its tools and features.""With Microsoft, you can use it on the web version, and you can use Microsoft Outlook. Google has the web version."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing may seem steep at first, but delve into the features and you'll soon realize it is incredible value for what you get."
  • "It is expensive per head, as you need the enterprise license to get full security and tools. So negotiate a discount!"
  • "Better sign a full year's contract to get a discount."
  • "I'm in Higher Ed, so we purchase through Internet2-Net+. I absolutely recommend going that route for Higher Ed customers."
  • "A business account has a minimum of three users. If you are more than three people in-house, go for the Enterprise version. All the external users are free of charge."
  • "Our pricing and licensing is excellent. I'd tell all Higher Ed customers to talk with Internet2 for excellent pricing and support."
  • "I believe Box is cheaper than SharePoint."
  • "They are very price competitive when pushed. Initially, they come out with a standard list price, but they are willing to be very competitive. The Box price was pretty much equal to or lower than the Citrix price, and Box has more features."

  • "G Suite and Microsoft Office 365 offer products with similar functionality at several different price points. Zoho offer a more extensive range of products and attempts to provide all the applications required to run most small and medium-sized businesses."
  • "Careful consideration should be given to the different licensing options and provisions should be made for additional applications that may be required for your particular business."
  • "Traffic management tools may be required for larger setups and should be included in any pricing calculations."
  • "There are several areas where a G Suite implementation can reduce costs: lower license fees than some competing products, reduced hardware, and IT support costs."
  • "There are benefits that can provide a competitive advantage, e.g., improved productivity (with appropriate training), increased collaboration (with correct use of tools), flexible working - work from home or remote locations, easy to scale - fast onboarding of new employees, and ability to add and remove licenses, as required."
  • "We receive value for the price that we pay."
  • "The pricing is a bit on the higher side than normal. For a basic Google account it costs $100, but Enterprise is %150."
  • "The price per client within the business is too high."
