We performed a comparison between Cohesity DataProtect and Delphix based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Backup and Recovery solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Cohesity DataProtect is user-friendly and straightforward. The setup process was effortless, and both the backup and restore operations are speedy."
"The most valuable aspect for me is that I don't have to deal with media in terms of tapes like our existing system does."
"By using their Helios Cloud service, you have all your clusters, no matter where they are located, in one web portal."
"The most valuable features are the rapid VM restores and the ability to quickly find files and download them directly to my desktop so that I can put them where I need them to be."
"The restores are easy to do and have made it so that we can incorporate restores into our troubleshooting processes."
"The ease of use and the GUI have really been most valuable to us. Configuring the system to do what we need is simple and straight forward and a lot of guesswork has been removed. One of my favorite features with Cohesity is Kroll for Exchange item-level recovery. The software is simple to use and fast."
"It makes our administrators' lives much easier to combine backup, archiving, and services like hosting file shares in one central system with only one user interface."
"Cohesity DataProtect is easy to deploy and operate."
"The most valuable feature is creating virtual databases."
"The most valuable aspect is the product is easy to manage, with a good dashboard. We can easily configure it on the front end and back end."
"The most valuable feature is VDB provisioning."
"The performance offered by the product, its price, and its ability to handle structured and unstructured data were good when compared to the other products in the market."
"It is a stable solution."
"Delphix interfaces are simple to use and very user friendly."
"It provides the ability to roll back to a point in time or roll forward without the assistance of a DBA."
"Delphix can do data masking in any format. Not many solutions can do that."
"I would like to see the management of multiple nodes inside a tenant. If you want to manage a Cohesity environment, you either go on a per-node base, and you can hop from one node to the other, or you need to implement their SaaS capability but it always needs an internet connection. We would really like to have some kind of local management entity so that we can see all the Cohesity nodes in a customer environment and manage those nodes centrally. That's something that we would really like, and they are really working on it."
"Add the ability to delete View Boxes and External Targets in the GUI."
"The platform has certain limitations, mostly stemming from the restrictions imposed by the VMware API and some other factors. One area where there is room for improvement is the tracking of replicated copies, especially in the context of remote archive duplication."
"Many of the reports are basic, at most, and at times we had to open a support ticket to help find or develop a report for our needs."
"Reporting is one area that isn't as robust as it could be."
"We would love to see direct compatibility with HPE Simplivity, which we also leverage."
"The one area where we would like to see additional improvements is with reporting. There are very granular reports from each grid. There are also some built-in reports within Helios (SAS Management Console) that offers basic reporting. However, for complex, large-enterprise environments, a more robust reporting engine that supports detailed audit reporting and enhanced ad hoc reports would be welcome."
"We are waiting on the AIX agent to be released."
"When it comes to unstructured and structured data, if Delphix can comply with the requirements for most of the structured data, it would be good, especially if it can include the data scanning part."
"Delphix could be improved with better usability and an agentless option."
"Delphix is a strong solution for virtualization, but it's not strong enough for creating data, so we have to use another solution for creating new data."
"Delphix is quite expensive."
"As a commercial model, it's very good. However, maybe it would be nice for Delphix to integrate with some other platforms."
"My only complaint about this solution is the price."
"The solution's price needs improvement."
"This product should be extended and made to be a more comprehensive storage solution."
