Find out in this report how the two Backup and Recovery solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."We are very satisfied with the product as a whole—all the backup functions, the data protection functions. We are very satisfied with those, and the product is very simple to use."
"The spin-up of a VM within a test environment for backup testing along with quick restores."
"The ease of use and the GUI have really been most valuable to us. Configuring the system to do what we need is simple and straight forward and a lot of guesswork has been removed. One of my favorite features with Cohesity is Kroll for Exchange item-level recovery. The software is simple to use and fast."
"No longer does it take several hours to backup a VM or troubleshoot a backup issue."
"It's completely reliable and easy to restore."
"Cohesity DataProtect is a reliable solution for performing backups within a suitable timeframe, and its forever incremental model is particularly effective for the customer's needs. Additionally, the solution handles instant recovery and file-level recovery from a VMware image backup seamlessly."
"We like that we can use production data to run intensive reports that would otherwise bog down the production server."
"The initial setup is easy."
"While the challenges posed by the difficulties were significant, they prompted the replacement of problematic components, resulting in the resolution of issues. Importantly, there were no substantial ongoing concerns. Regarding the overall performance, it has been consistently excellent."
"I am impressed with the tool's technical alliance with Veeam and Veritas."
"Add the ability to delete View Boxes and External Targets in the GUI."
"The product is still young and is continually improving. There have been a couple of buggy releases in the software that have caused us minor issues, so possibly some better QA before releasing would prove to be useful. We have also been inquiring about new app and functionality via the Marketplace that was teased months back but has yet to come to fruition."
"The error handling could be improved."
"This solution is only compatible with a limited number of storage arrays, including Pure and Cisco Hyperflex."
"Microsoft Exchange online mailbox backups would be fantastic."
"There is room for improvement in terms of price."
"Since it is an evolving product, there are lot of frequent releases which require upgrades to be done every other weekend."
"The support is pretty bad."
"The product needs to improve performance while scaling out. It also needs to improve stability."
"Perhaps the most notable area for enhancement lies in the web interface for management. The current limitations in LDAP editing capabilities are not addressed in the UI, and I haven't observed any recent updates. It's possible that the new version of the DXI service incorporates improvements in the GUI, but I cannot confirm. While there is room for improvement in the current GUI, it remains a relatively minor issue. Overall, the system is comprehensive, covering aspects such as reports on latency and networking, leaving little room for additional enhancements in those areas."
