We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Maybe they could improve the capability to be multi-tenant.""It is very scalable.""It allows us to manage all client requests, jobs and invoicing.""It's definitely improved the help-desk servicing, et cetera.""This product saves us a lot of time and increases our efficiency.""A good automated scripts feature.""The initial setup is easy and the deployment is quick.""ConnectWise Automate's interface is pretty easy to use. It's pretty intuitive to get around and navigate it. It does what I need, which is usually connecting to the client and customers systems."

"The scalability to deploy the package.""The solution has a very good set of features.""I have found the solution to be scalable. We have around 50,000 users using the solution.""The solution is stable.""Patching is the main feature because SCCM is made to control the entire environment without manually interpreting. So it is good to use for patching.""Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager is valuable in keeping our systems updated. We are able to send updates to all the systems. Additionally, the Intune integration is helpful.""Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager is very scalable.""I manage software updates and operating systems for devices, and within seconds, we can remotely deploy a system for, say, 2,000 devices. Not only that, but we can also deploy scripts and create comprehensive compliance rules."

Cons
"Technical support was helpful.""Patching and reporting need improvements, especially reporting. The reporting engine is quite outdated, so you end up having to use your own dashboard.""The project management needs improvement and there's a section of the product called configuration that also needs to be improved.""The wait time for a support ticket to be addressed needs to be reduced. They take a couple of days to get back. It is a little frustrating when we have to wait for a couple of days. A lot of times, the issue is critical for us. If we're reaching out to their support team and submitting a ticket, it is because we need it handled quickly.""They always change the GUI to some dumb-down version of tiles which are more "user-friendly", but slows my team down in the end.""I have a problem with the reports available on the solution. I don't understand how to work with the reporting functionality. For example, when I want to give a report for a specific machine, ConnectWise doesn't seem to have this as an option. I'm not sure if I'm missing something, or if the reporting functionality is just poorly conceived.""The menu doesn't always load properly.""There could be better linkages between ConnectWise Automate and Manage from a ticketing perspective. Automate and Manage each has its own ticketing system. We use the one in Manage, but it'd be nice if they were linked directly to the one in Automate."

"The tool's deployment is difficult. Microsoft needs to improve documentation with videos.""I want the system to provide some dependency relations. I would also like to see the relationship between different machines.""It is a bit of an old and outdated product.""I currently need to increase my compliance level in the patching processes which this solution could improve on.""The main room for improvement is the on-screen display. I think it would be good if some improvements were made.""Management of Linux devices could be improved.""SCCM can improve on third-party application support.""Devices like smartphones and tablets are managed very well on VMware, however, they are absent in SCCM. I could configure iPad from the VMware site and it was done very easily. It should be just as possible on SCCM."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing and licensing are reasonable."
  • "From what I've overheard, it is pretty comparable to other solutions in terms of price."
  • "I believe Automate is available for around $2."
  • "I pay $85 a month per user for a ConnectWise package that contains multiple solutions."
  • More ConnectWise Automate Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Pricing and licensing are horrible. You have to not look at dollar value to use SCCM. It's super-duper expensive but it works. The acquisition cost is expensive, it's labor-intensive. But it works."
  • "Pricing and licensing are a downside of SCCM. It's expensive. I'd have to confirm this, but I think they changed the licensing to core-based instead of socket-based. It's not cheap, because you have to buy the software, you have to buy SQL. Another thing we learned from talking to Microsoft is that they provide you a license for SQL if you run it on the same box as the primary server. If you run it outside that box, you have to buy SQL. Microsoft does recommend you running it on the same box because of performance. But then, in order to run SQL, SCCM, and everything on the same box, you better have some resources. It's an expensive solution. There's no doubt about it."
  • "Overall, I think it's fine. It's pretty much in-line because there are ways to offset it with the Office 365 licensing."
  • "SCCM comes with its own version of SQL Server. If you use that SQL Server with SCCM and don't use it for another applications than you get an SQL Server for free."
  • "The licensing is good because they have various options, depending on what you are looking for."
  • "Pricing is negotiable with Microsoft, depending upon which of their packages you choose."
  • "When you compare this solution with other tools in the market you might actually find a lot of variation in the pricing and that's why people opt for the other tools rather than Microsoft tools."
  • "Its price is okay because it is part of our licensing."
