Find out in this report how the two Network Monitoring Software solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."We can manage the entire system across the network and troubleshoot the pain points."
"The single dashboard is a valuable feature."
"We were able to standardize the internal processes across all internal departments, resulting in almost an elimination of non-standard process flows through our organization."
"It is very stable. We have not had any major issues in over 10 years."
"Stability has been good. We really have not had any issues."
"I have found the cross analysis feature to be the most valuable."
"Allows us to have a single console/notification point, with the alarms of all the tools that we use for monitoring."
"It is easy to understand and determine when and/or where the network is failing."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to put health checks in place not only for the infrastructure but for some of the services that are on top of the infrastructure."
"This product provides good visibility into applications at the backend."
"This solution helps our application teams by allowing them to drill further into issues and perform a root cause analysis."
"We are able to do problem determination on runaway processes."
"The product has helped our organization with in-depth monitoring."
"SCOM has helped us to monitor all the VMs in our environment, especially the Windows servers."
"I enjoy its integration with the Microsoft Active Directory functions, which means users, computers, or other group policies can connect with Windows Active Directory."
"I like the historical reporting of observer metrics."
"I like some of their newer features, such as maintenance schedules, because SCOM records SLA and SLO time."
"They have great integration with the active directory."
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."
"The technical support needs improvement."
"I would like to see better scalability, and maybe, a more intuitive user interface. "
"It takes some time to learn how to use this solution."
"The biggest issue is our integration right now between UIM and Spectrum is lacking."
"OS monitoring needs to be better developed, as well as their services, e.g., cluster monitoring, URLs, etc."
"I would like to see them eliminate the Java console. The user interface for this is a Java applet that runs on your desktop, and it is very problematic for us."
"If they could interact with the MIBs of vendors better, and have a lot more pre-loaded ones, that would be amazing for us right now."
"The visual is a little archaic."
"There's a little bit of complexity to the initial install because you're dealing with operating systems. You have to make sure all the prerequisites are done, anti-virus exceptions, etc. Then there's the bringing it up and then there's discovery of the network and setting that up. It takes time."
"Application monitoring must be improved."
"On-prem network monitoring is something that could be improved drastically."
"I would like to see better support for monitoring Unix-based systems."
"Regarding certain issues in the solution, it can be difficult to generate reports if we have a program that is not user-friendly for reporting. While this is not necessarily negative, we may need to use another solution."
"There are some negative points about this product. Sometimes, the capabilities of the software don't appear, and you can't directly see the results. You have to wait for a long period to refresh the policy to push it to the software or other patches."
"They can focus more on cloud monitoring instead of on-premise monitoring. We should be able to monitor cloud-related applications. They can include this feature in the next release. If it is in the cloud, we can have scalability by using Kubernetes. The container is containerized, packaged, and managed using Kubernetes. This feature is not there in SCOM. Going forward, if they can focus on that, it will be great."
"The price could be improved."
"It would be a much better product if Microsoft provided management packs with the product."
