Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Based on my experience, I find Intune very flexible for managing Windows devices. We can use scripting, and we can make use of the self-service portal or the company portal to publish some of the applications for Windows.""Microsoft Endpoint Manager is not expensive overall, especially for small environments.""There is a single pane of glass for user access and a single sign-on facility for the user. If you have already logged in to Microsoft Azure or on-premises, you can redirect directly to Microsoft Endpoint Manager, monitor all your security threats, and analyze the data associated with the application in a single, unified way.""Configuration profiles, remediation, scripts, and auto-pilot features are very good.""We are using the mobile feature, and we are also using MDM to lock the devices, to push restrictions, et cetera""Intune device restriction policies enable me to enforce limitations on the device, like blocking the mobile camera or restricting the employees from using and inserting USB devices, including thumb drives and flash drives.""As the solution is a software as a service, the scalability is unlimited.""The tool's most valuable feature is Autopilot."

More Microsoft Intune Pros →

"Self Service empowers the user and allows them to install the software they need when they need it.""The ease of use and access allows us to manage all of our devices collaboratively.""I like the ability to modify it to suit our environment and the fact that, since it's an Apple-dedicated service, the integration is easy.""The most valuable features are the restrictions, Lost Mode, Self Service, and full implementation of anything Apple will let MDM manage.""We can put certain devices into smart groups based off of device name, department, etc.""The action and trigger is the main thing for us. We like the kind of repetitive script which we can use there.""One of the key features that I liked the most and a lot of the customer value as well is the geofencing. Geofencing is geographical locations. If the device is on a particular premise, then the policy applies. And when the device is not there, the policy goes away.""Users love that instead of having to wait for tickets to be resolved, they can open an app and run a specific policy."

More Jamf Pro Pros →

"The solution can scale.""VMware Workspace ONE is a platform that's really good at monitoring and managing mobile endpoints. It can be set up quickly and implemented easily. Technical support for this solution has always been good.""A very easy to use solution.""Good device management and good integration with third parties.""The platform provides a stable environment for operations and quickly creates new environments. Additionally, it offers efficient flexibility.""You can put all your applications on a mobile device, be it a phone or tablet. It is secure and easy to use. Because it is centrally managed, you don't have to do any configuration on the phone. I just got the phone and connected to the central applications. I just downloaded one thing and everything got rolled out. Email, calendar, and other things were deployed centrally. If you don't have AirWatch, you have to configure your phone manually. For example, you need to deploy and configure your email manually and then synchronize everything. It is much simpler when a mobile device is centrally managed.""Among the most important improvements is the ability to set up different groups with different deployment policies.""We can do single sign-on and make use of the same user account to log into multiple applications."

Cons
"The pricing could be improved.""It just doesn't handle software updates well at all by itself. You need to be a scripting wizard to make those happen properly, or you use third-party tools. The Windows feature updates are very difficult to implement. I would like to see a proprietary built-in remote control tool. I know that they have Team Viewer integrated, but it is not seamless. It would be nice if they had a seamless remote desktop capability directly from the Intune console.""One area for improvement is app deployment. Another is the Windows update rollout. If you're rolling out an object to a device that's offline, Intune stops trying to reach this device after it sits idle for a bit. We are forced to find a workaround that could help manage that.""I'd like some more reporting so that I don't have to delve into PowerShell and I can pull more of the local device information such as memory, apps installed, etc. It would be nice to be able to see the apps that are present there but might not be managed. For example, if they installed 7Zip, it could report that back via an installed program or feature to see what was currently installed.""The initial setup is a little bit complex.""The scalability could be improved, and like most other MDM products, Intune is good but not 100% there yet.""There could be more wizard-driven policy development or creation. Some of the policies can get quite complex. If they have a wizard that assists the administrators in creating the policy, that will be a great job.""In the past, I raised some tickets for the enhancement feature, which was missing in Intune."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"The dashboard needs to be customizable.""The solution should offer beta testing for new products.""There is room for improvement with Jamf Pro, especially regarding updates.""There's only one thing that I would like to see improved. It's potentially being worked on right now, actually. That is the ability to provide remote support access to use those devices. I'd like it to work in a similar manner to Desktop Central or other solutions like Team Viewer.""They need to alphabetize payloads.""It would be nice if there was a built-in means of renaming computers that worked reliably.""Inventory reporting could be better, however, that is already slated to improve with some of the new features Apple has announced in WWDC 2022.""I'm not exactly sure where it could be improved off the top of my head, but there is room for improvement."

More Jamf Pro Cons →

"The SaaS environment is not very responsive at times, so the performance can be improved in that regard.""The app installer is something that they should really change. It creates a lot of confusion for the user.""When it comes to deployment and maintaining security, there should be an integrated console where you have a singular view of all of the products from the same OEM.""The application itself individuals are getting annoyed with it. They are looking to integrate with ABB applications regardless of whether it is Android or iOS based. We are wanting to shift from this application because of the integration issues we are facing.""The mobile device repository is somewhat difficult to manage with a large user base.""There is room for improvement in customer service and support.""The Content Locker cannot inherit permissions for the Windows Public Folder. If they could integrate with Microsoft on this point, it would be the perfect functionality.""The solution is too complicated. A lot of end customers don't know how to start when they go into the console."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

    Reviews from Real Users

Another reviewer, a Desktop Engineer at Kroger, notes, “The self-service portal to share scripts and other tasks that have extremely minimized the need for calls to our support teams, or even sharing the applications we package and allowing users to pick and choose what apps they need or want, instead of just blanket installing everything from our old environment.”

Below is some feedback from our PeerSpot users who are currently using the solution:

PeerSpot user Patrick B., Cybersecurity Architect at a tech services company, says, "Its UI is extremely easy to use whether you're an advanced user or a novice user. When I first opened it up and had to learn the product, I was easily a novice. By the end of the third month, I was digging into the backend of the system and using it as a highly advanced user to accomplish what I needed to accomplish, and I was able to do it through the UI mostly."

Roshan T., Partner Manager North America at a tech company, mentions how satisfied he is with the product, saying, "You can put all your applications on a mobile device, be it a phone or tablet.
