We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature of ManageEngine Endpoint Central is the central management console. Additionally, inventory tracking is helpful for knowing where our assets are.""The patch management aspect of the solution is the most valuable part for us.""It's a complete product that allows you to remote troubleshoot, has an inventory of systems.""The most important feature we found to be useful in the COVID situation is the secure connection, which gives the IT support staff the ability to seamlessly connect with the users remotely and in a secure way.""The reporting tool is very good.""We can scale the product.""I like being able to image over the network. That's a nice feature that it has. Patch management is pretty decent on it as well.""Page management and ADA integrations are the most valuable features of ManageEngine Endpoint Central."

"The solution is very flexible and the UI is user-friendly.""There is a lot of documentation available that is easy to comprehend and follow.""Since the pandemic hit us, it has helped a lot with the need to work remotely. We can share live files, work on the same document, we can live chat, and even create multiple channels within Teams where the files can be shared and worked on by specific users.""I feel the solution to be scalable.""It is easy to use.""It's strictly in the cloud, so the company doesn't need to invest in hardware to install their Active Directory. Cons
"The reporting analytics could improve in ManageEngine Desktop Central. However, there are some third-party add-ins or modules you can purchase to do reporting analytics.""The solution lacks some configuration.""The only problem with it is that the setup isn't very intuitive. I know that they just upgraded the product to make it a little bit easier to use, but compared to some of the other platforms, it is not easy to configure it, set it up, and get it running. However, once you have set it up and got it running, it runs great.""Tech support is mediocre at best.""Computer imaging is powerful but breaks frequently. The reason for this breaking is not clear and requires heavy amounts of attention to keep operational. There is a lot of room for this tool to do more but the reliability of this process should be focused on first to ensure core competencies are being fixed before more features are added.""I would like to see more click to complete actions such as - USB lockdown for Mac, the ability to check AV compliance on servers, bit locker controls, printer tracking or print page tracking, self-help for self-healing like "BMC my IT" and more options in the self-service menu other than just software - maybe add integration in ADSelfService at the self-service menu.""ManageEngine Desktop Central is very limited. When you scan your system, it will only recognize Microsoft Windows Defender and BitLocker.""Even when it shows Java as up-to-date, it might not be. So, to make it better, they should improve the accuracy of Java patch reporting."

More ManageEngine Endpoint Central Cons →

"The solution should have better integration with other platforms.""The admin panels have too few samples.""They could maintain the consistency of features and UI while updating the product.""No assistance with initial setup.""It's a bit complex in itself when you get into items such as security or compliance.""We have OneNote, where you type something, and it's saved automatically, so if Microsoft could add that option in 365, it would help us avoid potential data loss.""They can improve its price and make the way of sharing documents more secure.""The customization after the initial setup can take a while."

  • "We pay about $250 a year for our license."

  • "Depending on which plan you purchase, there are a plethora of applications available to you."
  • "Compared to buying a license, it is much cheaper and a good buy."
  • "We do monthly billing, however, I'm not sure what the exact costs are. We may pay around $1,000/month. We started using the Microsoft Teams and we've started doing the conference call feature, so that's another $4 an account and we have a few accounts using that right now."
  • "USD $1,250 annually for the standard package."
  • "Pricing can vary a lot due to fluctuations in exchange rates and that is not favorable for planning."
  • "Now you can select different licenses, for example, if somebody doesn't need all of the features, it would cost $8 USD per month and if they didn't need the email application then it would cost $6 USD per month."
  • "It works out to be $12.50 per user per month."
  • "Microsoft 365 Business will be good to have if you have a large organization where you have more than 3000 employees. Other cheaper solutions, like Gmail, are easily available in the market."

    Reviews from Real Users

PeerSpot user, Sr Engineer Administrator at a university, says that "Its cross-platform capabilities and the ability to do both OS-level patching and third-party patching are valuable. It is difficult to find a software product that will do all that for you out of the box, and you don't have to do any configuration other than your initial setup. Once you do that, there is a very minimalistic approach to getting it operational. You can have it up and running within a 20-minute time span."

Park Armstrong, Chief Technical and Solution Architect at Vertigo Inc., writes that ManageEngine Endpoint Central is “Helpful for identifying and filling the gaps and meeting compliance needs, but each of their product works as an independent product and lacks integration”.

Microsoft 365 Business is an integrated solution, bringing together the best-in-class productivity of Office 365 with advanced security and device management capabilities to help safeguard your business.
