We performed a comparison between Microsoft BitLocker and Sophos SafeGuard based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Encryption solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."It is easy to use. It is usually easy to recover someone's privacy. The manageability is much easier than McAfee. I think that Microsoft is a leader in this area. We are in the Microsoft school so our judgment of McAfee will be a little bit unfair as we recommend Microsoft all the time because of the easy manageability and support. I think that McAfee is designed for a different customer and every time we open a ticket with their support, it takes a very, very long time. The main difference is just the manageability and support. In terms of the solution itself or the functionality, I know that McAfee is very strong, but manageability and support, for us, is much more important. It's strengthens the solution for us."
"You can do a silent remote deployment very fast."
"Being able to encrypt an entire hard disk has been most valuable."
"The hard drive encryption is very good."
"The ease of administering and integrating the solution is great."
"The most valuable feature is the authentication process which is very fast."
"The platform provides good performance."
"Microsoft BitLocker's most valuable feature is endpoint encryption, and it's quite easy to manage."
"The user experience and the quality of the features are good."
"The Intercept X feature is the most valuable feature. You can't find this feature in other firewalls because Intercept X works as if it has an interaction between the endpoint and the firewall."
"I like the support most of all."
"The solution has a great VPN."
"It's a straightforward solution."
"The product is easy to use."
"What I love most about Sophos SafeGuard is its user-friendly interface. My company has another software with a complex user interface versus Sophos SafeGuard, which is extremely easy to use."
"The advantage of Sophos SafeGuard stems from the fact that it is more secure than other products in the market."
"For improvement, as it is now, I do not have any support from anyone. There should be a web interface to manage BitLocker. But for now, all I do is just install a new product on the user's machine and create it. I would like to be able to see everything that is happening, even if it is just through a web interface. I would also like to be able to see how many users are provisioned, which users are using BitLocker, and how to disable or enable it. That's what I would like to see."
"They could improve cloud integration regarding attribute and encryption key management."
"The integration between Active Directory and BitLocker could be better."
"The biggest one for us is revoking access. So, even though someone downloads something to a device, we want the ability to cloak that device or data and bring it back or make that data unusable for that person. Currently, BitLocker doesn't give us that ability. It basically encrypts it. We're seeing if identity management or IAM allows us to do that. We're kind of looking at third-party software that does that for us."
"The primary aspect for improvement lies in expanding our developer base, which would accelerate the development process and bring these enhancements to fruition"
"The solution needs to have better protection and improve its pricing."
"Lacks a portal that can be managed rather than just existing."
"The console GUI could be better."
"There's no centralized management. This is a drawback."
"The focus should be on making things automated ."
"The Office 360 integration could be improved."
"Sophos SafeGuard is a German product. Sophos isn't really active in Europe. The Middle East, Africa, South Africa works with Sophos but their primary users aren't in Europe. They should market and push this solution to the European market."
"It's a good product, but some are not happy with the boot BCN, and the point-to-point VPN requires the best protection."
"The solution is not using other features like booting encryption, because it causes very heavy processing of the workstation. If they could find some way to handle the encryption and decryption to be lighter on the workstation it would be better."
"Sophos SafeGuard cannot block or quarantine such viruses. Quarantine is a feature with shortcomings that needs improvement."
"The product is not cheap."
