We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The design has been revamped in terms of GUI. The current interface is quite easy to read.""It's mostly so reliable and has a lot of functionality. We're using a lot of HPE tools and we can do a lot with it. So, its functionality is the most valuable feature.""The solution will streamline productivity and also improve automation. That would bring efficiency as well the ability to handle a big number of enterprise-wide service needs. Productivity and collaborative capabilities are some of the key benefits.""It can adapt to any process in the organization.""The initial setup is easy.""Incident management is the most valuable because we're using it to manage tickets for an accounting system. With the reports that are available, it allows us to track and identify trends at the type and item level. It also helps us in managing the workload better than what we had in Remedy, which is what we were using before 2013.""Sometimes, customization is simple. The version we are using now has a nice interface.""Technical support is pretty good."

"The solution is quite easy to integrate with other Microsoft products.""The most requested feature from our customers is the helpdesk ticketing system.""We use SCSM to manage all of our IT operations, including incident and service requests and problem management.""The most valuable feature is the reporting of incidents.""This product has helped our organization by allowing people to connect with each other.""The remote access is one of the features I really enjoy. The pushing of email updates and things like that are very good.""For our cloud-based deployment of SCSM, the Autopilot is the best feature.""It is one of the most stable solutions in the market."

Cons
"Service Manager would be improved with access to automation.""There should be some front desk provided or some options to let our users serve themselves, because we have about 5000 servers and 400 applications.""The interface could be better.""I think one area which is the most painful from my point of view is if you need to integrate a lot of the tools, and being able to make that a lot more seamless.""Pure cloud-based native functionality is lacking.""It needs to be easier to use for the end users because one problem we had was that we are handling different kinds of cases.""It, still, has a bit of more of improvement possibilities in the codeless part. But, I can see that they are working on it, so that's quite good as well.""Micro Focus Service Manager is not very great. It would be better if it had more features. When it comes to features, BMC tops the chart. When it comes to usage, people use BMC more."

"It's not too hard to compile stuff but it is hard to manage the solution. Even the design itself makes it difficult for management.""Once we had an issue with a desktop download that would not open.""One of the disadvantages in this product is that the reporting module is not very easy. It requires SQL development skills, which not all customers or IT professionals have.""The patch management aspect of the solution should be improved. It's quite complicated and not user-friendly. If your systems are not patched properly, you are unable to pull reports.""The solution could be more simple. For example, it takes a lot of work to create reports. It runs on Microsoft SQL queries. Creating custom reports on ManageEngine takes less work from the administrator.""It would be better if they had a portal for administrators. It would help me use it from anywhere and connect to any device from anywhere. I can administer the solution without a VPN.""We have had some issues with the SCSM on-premise deployment version in the imaging aspects.""My company had planned a few months ago to apply SCSM over the cloud in order to provide updates, like regular updates, but it had to be put through a few tools from Microsoft on the cloud, which was not easy."

  • "The license is not cheap."
