We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is stable and reliable.""I have found the most valuable aspect is the user-friendly environment and current features.""Essbase is extremely stable and low-maintenance.""The solution can handle a large volume of data.""The solution is scalable.""It is very fast compared to other normal databases, like SQL and MySQL.""It helps us fetch specific data sets per users' requirements.""It's a very powerful analytical engine with Essbase as the back end. We can analyze, transform, or utilize a big chunk of data for our calculations."

More Oracle Essbase Pros →

"There is a seamless integration with SAP S4HANA which is really valuable to our organization and its functions. Since the data is stored in the same ecosystem, it creates a simple process of building dashboards, without making the process cumbersome The Analytics Cloud provides standardized templates and storage options, making it easy to plug into existing structures. We're utilizing custom stories that have already been developed, streamlining the development process. It serves as a convenient starting point and contributes to the overall ease of development. Another advantage is that it doesn't provide the same level of calculation power as Power BI and Tableau. SAP Analytics Cloud emphasizes pushing analytics back into the database, recommending data manipulation and preparation outside of the platform. This approach is seen as an advantage, as it allows for more robust data handling.""The visualization feature is the most valuable. SAP Analytics Cloud is also very easy to use.""I like the connectivity the solution provides with other products.""It's easy to connect Analytics Cloud with other SAP solutions, and it's also effortless to deploy. You don't need much technical skill to set it up. It's as easy as setting up a tablet. I said tablet before. It's very easy to actually set up.""The most useful feature of SAP Analytics Cloud is planning because it helps users with making predictions and forecasts. Clients can forecast, make data allocations, and other actions. The solution is useful for planning.""Planning is the most valuable feature of the product because it's integrated and that means we don't need to rely on an independent planning environment.""The Smart Predict, Smart Insights, and Smart Discovery predictive analysis features are quite good.""The new Application Design option offers lots of customization options by being able to script in Typescript (similar to Javascript)."

Cons
"Essbase has a programming language, and it has a couple of functions to do forecasting, however, their feature set for that is not that good.""The ability to drive external reporting out for development could be improved.""They should improve the solution's performance.""The consolidation engine, which is HFM or FCCS, needs some room for improvement.""The initial setup could be simplified.""There is room for improvement in terms of cost-effectiveness.""The initial setup is pretty complex.""It's an expensive product to use."

More Oracle Essbase Cons →

"There is plenty of room for improvement. They have different products, and you need to integrate all of them to have one functionality. For example, data extraction happens in Datasphere. Then it would be best if you had some connection between the Datasphere and the SAP Analytics Cloud to get the data, as this is causing headaches sometimes. The knowledge base and Jedox also could be more meaningful. I have tried to search for some specific knowledge base and technology base, and I didn't find them. I have learned it by trial and error. There is room to improve the integrations between the different products. The AFS, and the Data action, need improvement. Sometimes they release new tools and updates, but not in my area.""It seems like there's a problem with the tool's licenses. If there are a lot of users, like 200, who only use the solution once a year, paying for a full-year license for each user is expensive. There's no option for users who only use the solution occasionally.""It's lacking a bit in maturity and we find we can't run our business off it until it's improved.""There is no direct connector from SAP to Redshift, so we are required to use a third-party product that was recommended by SAP.""The budget management could be better.""The scope is limited to a few accounts.""I think it would be easier if there was another module created to retrieve only data.""I am not happy with the predictive analytics features and smart features offered by the product, making them areas where improvements are required."
